I don’t want to be benched for breaking the great CZ rule of “bumping”, so I will generalize instead.

I spent some time going through very old threads and discussions from the 2015-2016 seasons last night. I know a couple of you are man enough to admit it, but most of you sadly are not. I have direct quotes from some of you who were bashing Romo for the same things Dak is doing, but you will bend over backwards to defend him. At the same time some of y’all who would never admit Tony had serious issues will Kill Dak for the same exact mistakes!!!

Y’all are so hypocritical it’s laughable. You know who you are and it’s taking will power for me not to expose you. Grow the Hell Up!!!! You will never be a rational fan if you can’t be balanced in your judgements.

Is Dak as good as Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Rodgers, or Burrow? NO. But he is somewhere in the next group of 5 or 6. Does Dak make huge mistakes that cost us games and have lead to failures in making it deep into the playoffs? Absolutely, but again he’s not Patrick, Josh, or Joe, and I don’t there’s nobody better we can get right now.

Be real and honest, and stop showing people like me who will dig into the consistency of your arguments that you really don’t know what you’re talking about!
Lol, one person who liked this was one of Romo's biggest critics but in his eyes, Dak can do no wrong. LOL!

So moronic.

Romo was the better thrower?

Yes, AC. Romo was a much better thrower of the ball. That should be clear to anyone regardless of their "other" feelings toward either player.

Like the OP was pointing out, people are seeing what they want to see regardless of reality.

And I'm going to disagree on Burrow. Only time will tell. But I think Dak's career trumples Burrow's when it's all said and done.

Really odd take from you. I mean he has already lead what may have been the greatest college team ever assembled to a national championship and an NFL dumpster fire to the Super Bowl.

On an individual level, I see him routinely get passes off when it seems he's been swallowed by a sea of humanity. His accuracy, poise, and football IQ seem pretty high to me.

When their careers are over, I doubt Dak matches what he has already done.

Whatever. At least be man enough to call me out like others do. Sheesh. BTW, unlike you Romofanatics, I call out Dak when he messes up. That's the difference between us.

Then there are those that feel the Cowboys could have done better than both of these QB's but they had already proven after Aikman, they could easily do worse.

That phrase "it is what it is" really applies to the QB situation over the last 16 years and right before that, they brought in Bledsoe so this QB challenge had been going on ever since Aikman retired.

I have never understood the need to attack or defend either QB because that was cushioned by what had come before these two players. Do posters here really have poor memories of just how bad that was?

The one thing that has always amused me is this 'let's get rid of Romo or Prescott". And do what? These bozos actually were going to take Lynch and Cook before Prescott was taken in the 4th round. And the owner was lamenting the day after the first day that he didn't offer a 2nd and 3rd for Lynch. Do you really want these people picking a QB? They are much better lucking into it.

I do think Romo was good enough to deliver if they'd built a better team around him and not relied on him so much and feel the same way about Prescott. Far worse QB's than these two have delivered rings.

But you know the most amusing part of this? It's not the attack or defense of either QB, it is the attack on your fellow fans because of one of these QB's. Many act as if these guys either saved their family from a house fire or stole their girl and I just don't get that.

It has never been about a player or players to me, the Cowboys are a team to me.

Those comments were made 5 years ago. Sentiments and opinions change. There is a real nostalgia factor in play when people reminisce about Romo, as well. We will probably do the same for Dak 5 years from now and when we have another rookie QB with growing pains.

You make an underrated point - the offensive line was once in a generation in 2016. Prescott may have got used to having that much time to throw which isn't normal for any other QB and as a result got used to it when as you mention - he doesn’t have that much time any longer.
Travis Frederick, wherefore art thou? Oh what could have been...

Romo > Dak (times infinity) ,,,, but in both cases the Jones' have left their QBs high and dry without quality defenses,,, and in Romo's case no quality OL until the very end.
Tom Brady has had a top 10 scoring defense every year of his career with the Pats. Aikman had the #1 defense in 1992. Romo had the #32nd ranked defense in 2012. Did he ever have even a top 10 defense? Maybe 2009?

Neither QB ever threw an interception that was their fault.

There is also the possibility that people change their minds or grow up and realize the past isn’t who they are. I always like to think people evolve here. Like, as TexasFrog and now, I consistently disliked Garrett after about his second year. Romo I ragged on but down the road realized he literally saved us so many times when he had no line and nothing around him. I liked Dak a lot to start but now he’s trending into Garrett territory with his ref talk, platitudes and just inconsistency. I like to think I can stay neutral but forces over time change things. But I’m not going to archive dig

Man....every now and then I put on Romo highlights. For an NFL walk on....the guy was amazing.

Yep...there was a few times he broke my heart. But way more times he either pulled it out.

or singlehandedly made it so close. THOSE are the only games some people remember. I'd go ahead and post it....but...romo haters never watch it anyway so why bother? They would have to face and admit the error of their ways.

They don't have an honest bone in their bodies. Some of these guys have literally attempted to blame Noah's drop on Dak. It's laughable at this point. The bias is overwhelming.
