Haven't read all the posts, but IMO Ramsey's the one guy if there, there's zero doubt he's our pick. The card will be turned in immediately.

FIrst downs keep the defense off the field. We are already converting short yardage through the run efficiently. What Zeke gives over what we already have are cheap TDs on breakaways which doesn't keep the defense off the field.

He is an upgrade to the RBs on the roster in a big way. One star listed in this board showed we were toward the bottom of the league in third and short situations. He will improve that and add some scores that they are not getting now.

I really wouldnt be surprised if buckner was higher on their board than bosa. I would be surprised if elliot was above any of bosa ramsey jack buckner

Put an asterisk by Myles until his knee is checked again. I'm wondering if he falls if he doesn't get a 100% good bill of health.

I think Zeke also adds a dimension in pass catching we haven't had in a long time. I'm not sure how much they value that esp with Dunbar around (which is not 100%). So I think he adds a lot to the team that will use him like a Muncie or Faulk.

I would prefer Jack. Since he wasn't offered up, I'd go Bosa. Been back and forth between Bosa and Ramsey but just as the EE crowd loves to say he would help the defense, Bosa, Jack and/or Ramsey would help get the offense the ball. EE is praised for being able to run, block and catch but he isn't more versatile than Ramsey or Jack. I respect the EE love. I wonder if EE is a bigger upgrade over Morris or McFadden than Bosa is over whoever is meant to play LE. EE will split carries. Bosa likely won't come off the field. I'll take Bosa.

Murray and DMC are good pass catchers.

I love the strategy of augmenting the vertical passing game with underneath throws to backs in the flats or otherwise underneath and having them run sprints in the perimeter and out in space. Sean Payton kills people with that and it's a staple of WCO attacks. Peyton Manning uses it to great effect. Haven't seen it here with Linehan.

Ramsey .. Elliot goes against the entire philosophy of not keeping Murray after 2014, and signing McFadden for 2015, plus adding Alfred Morris for 2016.

The real question will likely be to Tunsil or not to Tunsil...sure you could trade down - if the price is right because the OT is the best player in the Draft, and he's probably going to fall to #4 because San Diego snatches Ramsey @ # 3.

Loved watching Chuck Muncie play for San Diego in the 80's.... thought I'd post a pic for the younger crowd.

If we could trade down to 7 and have Bosa or Elliot drop to us. Btw, Ramsey visited NFL Network and Herm Edwards got in his face and told him to catch the ball. Herm told Ramsey, who ever drafts him, to run receiver drills to practice catching the ball. Herm notices it too.

We don't have a lot of horizontal routes.

If a pick must be made at 4, I suppose I'm fine with Elliot or Ramsey... but that pick is TOO high for either of those positions to be chosen, in my opinion. A trade down should be priority, with some real scouting/research being done (for a change) on how best to address those 2 positions (and more), later in the draft.

who gets picked? Looking more likely with QBs going 1 and 2, and good possibility of Tunsil at 3. If we get an offer to move down a few picks that would ideal. But if a trade isn't on the table, who gets picked.

I say Bosa....but I'd prefer the other two.

Given those choices, I'm taking Zeke.

I'd be happy with
1. Ramsey-future all pro and current stud
2. Elliot-ditto
3. Jack- injury worries me but if he checks out he could be the best of the 3.

Still don't like Bosa

Sound argument you fielded there. But here's the other thing: In my opinion, if the Cowboys pick Ramsey over Elliott, they have fixed nothing. 1 player on defense just does not have that type of impact on the overall product. The Cowboys have holes at every level on that side of the ball. But, the wonders an electric running game has is another story all together. A strong running game makes the whole team look good and tangibly play better. Which is why I really do not understand this notion that Rb's shouldn't be drafted in the top of the draft. The only other position that has more of an impact on the entire team than Runningback is Quarterback...and honestly, I'm not sure there is a quarterback in this draft better at his craft than Zeke is at his.

I do wonder if we could get a 2nd round guy like Henry or someone else who may be almost as good.
I agree with your point though and I'm not sure which would be best for us.

That is the general point.

It is not the RB at four idea at all.

It is getting a player that is about as close to professional NFL quality, right now.

Best. Player. Available. As everyone tries to pretend they believe in it.

Not best athlete. Let's be clear.

The player best at his position in doing their specific job, in every way.

Elliott checks those boxes.

How far back do you figure we could move and take Elliott? That's the only way a lot of fans could overlook the RB being taken so high despite the current trend, etc. Honest q...could still get Joseph in the 2nd if they did take Elliott but definitely will admit a bias against taking a RB so high. S play has been a problem since Woody retired and have gone with a two SS strategy out of either laziness or necessity absent Jones's recent move to FS.
