If Columbo is our starting RT who do you keep in reserve at tackle?

So when Petitti doesn't play RT its because Bill knows what he has, but when Fabini doesn't play LT its because he can't play the position. The least you guys could do is be consistent.

Two weeks ago Pettiti was playing RT.

Fabini hasnt seen LT in 2 years.

Cmon man its right there in front of you. I know you like Fabini but cmon.

Look all things being equal he's keeping the younger guy that has a chance to improve, that's common sense. Fabini has done nothing to distinguish himself from a younger group of competitors. Call Fabini a progress stopper in this case.

Nah you like what you saw from Fabini against the Saints and fell in love.

I really wanted him to be better than he has I was high on him after the travesty that was our RT last season but I just dont see it.

Fabini has to show up against Minny.

Look all things being equal he's keeping the better backup: Fabini. He's simply playing better than McQ or Petitti right now. Bill wants to win now. He's not a progress stopper when you've got a young tackle in Colombo and a young tackle in the either McQ or Petitti. McQ would make it scot free to the practice squad so its not like we'd lose him anyway.

"what happens if FLo goes down?"

"oh, he's the backup RT"

"BP knows what Jason can do at LT already"

it gets weaker, and weaker

It is very true that I liked what I saw from Fabini and didn't like what I saw from McQ. What's wrong with that? Isn't that how you evaluate players? Oh wait...I forgot that you guys evaluate players based on only considering Bill's positive compliments (and forgetting his negative comments) in press conferences.

saying this over and over, doesn't make it true

Fabini will likely have no impact on how many ball games we win if he stays on the team, neither will McQ or Pettiti, who will, they're freakin' backups

Actualluy McQuistan is nothing like Pettiti.

Pettiti went 4 years to Pitt and peaked his snior season where he stonewalled Freeney. The following year after eating lots of beer and pizza he ballooned and really has never regained that form.

McQuistan went to Weber state and played left guard next to his brother. He had some academic issues for a bit so while his brother attended 4 years he was nonly able to get two seasons at Weber State.

The do both play tackle but McQuistan is raw and the fact that he has come so far under NFL coaching to me means he could end up being really really good.

Having never played in the NFL, it could also mean that he is no very good. You don;t know. He has ability but has never played against first rate competition. Pettiti has. What I meant by my comment was McQ@ is a first year player with potential. Same as Rob last year.

If I wasn;t so lazy, I would search to find out how many of you that are saying Pettiti won't make this team spent the off season talking bad about him.

Fabibi offers experience, but is injured and winding down a career. Both McQ and Pettiti show promise for the future.

Leave agendas out of it.

Did you mistype something because I don't understand what you're trying to say here.

Parcells lready knows what Fabini has. He is just testing to see what the rook has.

Fabini makes the team over PM just for experience if nothing else. We'll prob keep both!!!

I haven't liked anything from either player yet to be completely honest.

That's the crux of our differences together right there, cause in my mind there is absolutely no way McQuistan gets cut. And if we did he'd be snatched up at light speed, noway he skates to the PS.

Also I think it's been far from conclusive that Fabini's been the better anything up to this point ... at all. And if it's not conclusive I don't see him making it, there's no upside to it.

We'll just agree to disagree then. Rest assured that I am typically wrong.

theogt, I could see if it was Pettiti, even then hardly, but McQ? when's the last time BP cut a rookie who wasn't disappointing him?

This is true. :)

That's why I try to be on opposite sides of you... plus the "wandering hands" don't help. ;)

This is Parcells, the same guy who said Henson's roster spot wasn't in jeapordy two weeks ago.

and when does a backup OT mean alot to winning football games?

You could argue our backup OT cost us the playoffs last year.

that's not as strong as saying you'd die for someone

backup OT(s), plural, that and WRs not being able to create seperation, kicking game

sorry if I like to throw caution to the wind and get rid of the player who'll be gone in a couple years anyways
