If he maintains his level of play, would you sign Claiborne to Kareem Jacksons contract

We will resign Mo and he will get a better deal than 20 mil. guaranteed. He will basically take over the hole in the salary cap left by getting rid of Carr. It should be somewhere around 9 or 10 mil/yr after incentives.

I wouldn't sign a player at all that waits until his contract year to start playing like he was supposed to all along.......AND I find it amusing that the ones that have "injury issues" all throughout their contract are suddenly have also been fixed during that same "contract year".

It doesn't matter how Mo has played during these first few games IMO due to these reasons that you listed. I brought these points up earlier, but many posters are convinced that one good season is enough to sign him to a big contract. I think his history in the NFL has shown that resigning him would be a waste of cap space.

I doubt he is back. I think he will keep up his level of play. I think that in doing so, he will price himself out of our range. I also think he might look for a fresh start elsewhere.

If he keeps it up, I wouldn't mind him back.

When has Mo ever been known to be lazy any other year he's been here? Confidence may have been an issue, transitioning to the NFL may have been an issue, but he was never considered lazy.

And again, I ask, who replaces Mo? Going to spend another first round pick on a CB? Going to overpay a FA CB again like we did with Carr?

People want to rewrite Mo's narrative for whatever reason. He's never been lazy. He's been injury prone.

Allow him to play another six games, and I feel he will be playing just as solidly as he is now. A couple of interceptions would help, but he would then be a positive to lock up in a long termed manner.

There is basically nothing Claiborne could do to make me bring him back. If they sign him, they'll regret it months later.

His wonderlic score scares me. Suggests hes prone to mental errors. Not good if your an elite CB

Say what? Did you watch the game? He was getting beat up all day underneath because of how scared he was to give up the deep ball. He was shredded in the 1st quarter to the point where Patmon even went over to him wondering what the hell he's doing out there playing the wrong coverages. He wasn't shadowing anybody either so stop with this myth that he shut anybody down, let alone Julio Jones and ODB. Those guys could smoke him any day all day if they went up against him 1 on 1.

Clown shoes.

Which is why I said it ain't happening. Anybody that wants to buy into this "he shut down the 2 best receivers in the game" garbage, go right ahead. He was solid, not good, not terrible. Solid, for what, 1 or 2 games now. Let's ignore the years of him being complete and utter trash, of him not being able to stay healthy. Yeah, something tells me his play is going to either fall off or he's gonna get hurt. Either way he's not worth more than 5 mil. per season. He is what he is. A backup who can't stay healthy, who can't even play the nickel. The only way he sees the field is if one of the outside corners get injured because Patmon has proven to be a better nickel corner. So essentially this guy would be our #4 corner. Who the hell pays this guy close to 10 mil. per year for that. They better check his mental state.

Please noooo. That would be disastrous. No way we should pay him 9-10mill a year. No freaking way. Nope nope nope nope

So, who replaces him? Would you rather keep Carr, the corner that is truly getting shredded?

Let me say, I'm not opposed to keeping him but he's worth a Terrence Newman or paceman jones salary which is 2.5 mill per year. To me he's not a cromartie ( either one) or prince amukamara all which are at 6-7.5 mil range. When people are saying pay him 10 mill that's insane. Simply insane.

Ok, who would I replace him with...I could try to do it internally. Orlando scandrick will be back so he mans the slot w Patmon and white outside or move scandrick outside ( he can do it) and keep Patmon inside.

Would I rather keep Carr? Not for the money. He's paid like top 5 corner and frankly isn't worth that. Now if he was paid 6-7 range, yeah I'll keep Carr.

If he plays at this level the entire year, he is on the level of Prince. There's really no way around it, and they both have a history of injuries as well.

Orlando Scandrick would get burned going up against the elite WRs in this league consistently. I don't even want to think about having White and Patmon on the outside, that's just asking to have the worst secondary in the league. So, we would have to look at FA for the replacement, these are the players: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/cornerback/

There's a few FA's I'd be interested in, Amukamara, Jenkins, and Sean Smith. But I'm guessing they'll likely resign with their teams. If we don't keep Mo and Carr, I think it's more likely we draft another corner early (Not really a strong draft class, sadly).
