CFZ If the QB doesn't get a new contract, how will you watch this season?

Plenty of solutions and plenty of time.
I agree, and I'm sure they'll sort it out. However, as it stands now, kicker and oline depth are legitimate concerns. I'd say oline depth is probably the larger issue than kicker ATM. That will need a bit more tweaking to get right.

Why not, why do you care what other fans feel?

They might feel that they've watched this long enough and are willing to endure a bad season in the hope of upgrading at QB.
why do you care what i care??????????

reciprocal huh lol

hope you mean hope vs reality

look around the NFL see teams that gave up looking for a qb vis draft overpaid both $$$ and draft capital to TRADE for players parell to daks ability , skillset, and production and it didnt get them far..

FACT

so, you hope for great seasons but if organically the team loses and changes are made , well we live with that.

Be careful what you wish for,

that field turf grass is not always greener on the other side weve seen teams struggle for a decade looking to replace quarterbacks and not get any further than what the Cowboys have with the last two quarterbacks, who somehow fans seem to hate.

THATS WHY!

What does the QB want $52 million with $260 million guaranteed now or $300 million guaranteed in 2 years?

My dream scenario and one that will produce at least 2 Superbowls in the next 7 years.
Tank 0-17 to have the # 1 pick in the draft.
Draft your new Troy Aikman.
Prescott's Purgatory must end ASAP!!!!
ENOUGH ALREADY!
0-17 is impossible. The Cowboys defense will win you 6 games on its own.

You look to tank when you are strictly mathematically eliminated, not a full season from day 1. Specially when you have a playoff caliber football team.

I don't have personal hate towards Dak. If the players around him cave, he is toast. If the players around him can hold their ground, he has plenty of flashes in him. Players like Mahommes, Brady, etc know how to handle pressure.

Unfortunately, Dak doesn't. You can only go so far at Dak's stage. You need a QB like Mahommes or Brady (or that type) that can flash even when in pressure. You can post stats all you want. Stats aren't going to show the folding that Dak does on the field. You can't coach that out of a player. He is what he is.

Will still root for the team although I'm not his biggest supporter.
Just like I'm not a big fan of the GM or HC either.

Diehard called it for me in a previous post. Having to root for the sum of the team while not approving of several individual moving parts.

I've been separating my personal opinions on those 3 most important individual moving parts while staying loyal to the team and will continue to do it like that.
I would love for Dak to do well. I would love for him to have a postseason like the Tampa game - Just don't think he can pull it off.

I think he is a bit weak mentally honestly, not dumb but just lets it get to him!

The QB's contract situation will have nothing to do with my fandom or how much I watch. Never has.. never will. Same goes for any player at any position. I'm not that invested in these guys' paychecks. I honestly don't understand people who are..

Using the word "tanking" with anything close to the Cowboys is a waste of space, will never happen or be allowed to happen. Think Goodell and the other owners would stand by for that if Booger was to even consider it? Which he isn't.

I posed this in another thread but thought it would be an interesting topic here, if all posters can really be honest with their answers.

First off, I am going to say Prescott is a more polarizing player than Romo was and I could see fans of the team actually pulling against their own team to try and get rid of him.

It is an oddity but it is there, many just don't want him to be the DC QB. The question is enough to pull against him and the team?

I gotta say, if I disliked him at QB as much as some here do, and evidently that is not exclusive to the Zone, I might be tempted to pull for a QB crash and burn.

And I am not going to ask if not him, then whom because those that really dislike Prescott do not care, I really do believe they have arrived at "anyone but him".

I am also not going to say if they go that route they are not good fans. Plenty of fans have pulled for their teams to get worse in order to get better.

So, my question is mainly to those that do not like him. If he does not get a new contract, can you pull for him and the team knowing he will get another one and most likely larger than the extension he might have gotten?

Oh, I know, the Joneses intend on extending him but they intended on getting him on a new contract before they had to do that 160M one. He's bet on himself before and won.
I have nothing against Dak. It's not his fault he isn't good enough in the playoffs. It's just time to move on. We've seen enough the last 8 years to know that if you don't have pedigree at the QB position your not winning a SB in today's game. There are too many very good QBs in Mahomes, Allen, Burrows. Even Lawrence is on the rise. I feel like Dallas is a minnow among sharks when it comes to the QB position.

Clearly the Cowboys are concerned about his inconsistent accuracy. His inability to see the field under pressure. His holding the ball when there are tight throws to be made.
Unless he's willing and able to become more mobile he'll fail and be the most expensive pine rider in the NFL 2024
