I think the pressure on Owners from fans and media make the leash a lot shorter nowadays. Make no mistake, the public outcry can get you fired a lot faster than back in the 1960's.

It is Wade's contract year and he is not being offered an extension.

Even if Jerry does not go with Jason Garrett (I think he will) I think he would go get Holmgren or Shanahan.

Lord, I hope its not Holmgren, yuck! I also think if you look at coaches that have won a superbowl, they hardly have won one with a new team. Now Gruden kinda interests me, since he is aggressive and doesnt take stuff from players, remember he got tampa bay to win, and took the raiders to the super bowl too.

I think that with Garrett, will depend how well the offense does this year. I think we all including Jerry Jones took what happened in 2007 and said it was all Jason Garrett, while in reality was Sparano helping Garrett by calling plays he saw in the press box.

I honestly think the only reasons Wade is here has to do with the amount of money the stadium cost. No way Jerry wants to pay a man not working for him.

This I totally agree with you, this whole season has been about money where Jerry has to recoup some money he spent to build cowboys stadium. For example we had a chance to get a few impact players or even resign burnett, and we find out now, that was all the fault of burnett's agent.
I said the same thing months ago, was all about money and how Jerry Jones was trying to save money and recoup is money.

Speaking of money, get Ware's deal done.

IMO, Wade would have to win the Super Bowl to save his job. He has a 3% chance of that happening.

I partially agree with you on this, but i do think say for example the cowboys have to go the way of the wild card and get to the championship game, and are very competitive but too beat up by that time, then I think Jerry might resign wade for at least one more year. Thats the only way without getting to the super bowl, wade must get to the championship game and be competitive. I also think that Stephen Jones has some say in this whether or not wade stays and how the team is being built.

Ya, you are probably correct in that assessment. You do get a "please me now" crowd more than ever.

Why the heck does anyone want Merriman here? When has he ever proved he wasn't a one year roided up freak? Do you want him here so he can kick the crap out of his training camp roommate over a chick?

Us not wanting him here shouldnt have anything to do the recent allegations (ESPN didnt seem to mind reporting on it ) it should have everything to do with the fact that he hasn't proven that he doesn't suck

I don't like things about the guy, and i don't think we need him or can afford him, but dude, you don't know anything about football if you think he hasn't played well. Dude was hurt all of 2008 and had no stats, but his first 3 years were great. You need to be informed before making yourself look bad.

finally someone sees the truth. he brings intensity and would be the second best player on this D. this thug crap is getting crazy. if they can help win games i don't give a crap what they do. i would rather have them and win superbowls and games then have these nice fruity players and lose.
