Chris Jones, Noah Spence, Reggie Ragland, Myles Jack, Hell Hunter Henry would of been Romo friendly.
This!
I really think a lot of the talk about the injury was posturing to get teams to back off. Not that I would expect the Cowboys team doctor to do or say anything that would give his employer an edge.
That would be unethical.
I find it comical that posters are behind this pick now, but they would have rioted if you told them that Smith would be the second round pick the day before the draft. He was not even in the conversation as the second round pick. A few posters said they would take a chance on him with a late round pick, but nobody had expectations of him playing this season. Now they are starting a countdown with the hopes that an inch a month is going to happen.
Too many needs to take that risk. That's why bad teams stay bad. What would NE, GB, Pitt do if they had the 4th?
Was not worth the risk.
This kid woulda went top 3 if it wasn't for injury. Our doctors knew the best considering they did the surgery. If we didn't take him at that pick someone else was taking him in the second. Kid imo will be a stud and he's determined to prove it. and everyone will be satisfied.
You don't know if he would have been top 3. Guys climb and fall due to the combine. The combine is to minimize risk. You just don't know what measurables Jaylon would have put up.
When both went off the board back to back the Cowboys got a little panicked.
What do you expect them to do? Sit around and whine about it for the next six months.
For me it's not about immediate impact. You make great picks like Martin and Fredrick and Jones. You think the team is heading in the right direction. But then you hear about wanting to take Manziel and throwing away picks like for Mo.. Stick to the course. Bring in solid football players not splash players.
And if he never plays a down in the NFL fans will say Jerry was stupid for drafting him.
I felt that way on draft day. But water under the bridge. Just hoping things fall into place and we see him on the field in the second half of the year.
I love the optimism. I hope you're right. I didn't know much about him while at ND. I saw some film of him playing and I have to admit I would need to see more to say he was worth the pick. Does anyone have any links to Youtube or something that would really show his worth? Either way, water under the bridge...but man I hope he's worth it.
I believe this description is an exaggeration. How can he run if he has no control raising and lowering his foot? Step-fall, step-fall? To much exaggeration going on. Tape an aspirin to it!
I guess the question is would you rather have a player who could go at any time or a player who might not come back at any time?
Wait... That is a firm date, right?
