I'll tell ya, after Romo went down the second time, the only QB that made this offense look like it was an NFL offense was Moore... And that was with the Cowboys playing out the string and no Bryant.

I think the kid can do fine as the back up.

You give Moore a healthy Dez and Elliott and we won't completely suck like last year.

I bet you when vet minicamp opens, DMC is running with the 1's. They make the rookies wear helmets without stars until they make the team and the notion of having the new guy have to come in and win the position is fairly entrenched.

If Dak is better than Moore, he'll get his shot. The coaches held out as long as they could from playing Moore last year; I don't think it will be hard.

Jerry just announced it on the Radio.

They will not IR him in hopes that he could play this year.

He also confirmed that Kellen Moore is the backup.....

Kinda disappointing since that was supposedly our top priority after the season.

I think they feel alright with Moore and Dak. Moore didn't really get much of an opportunity last year and maybe with practice reps he can hold the fort down while Dak (hopefully) develops. What back up would you have signed?

I would've sign Griffin but we would've had to make some small scheme changes.

Outbid the clowns....er.....Browns?

2 year, $15,000,000 contract with the Cleveland Browns, including a $3,500,000 signing bonus, $6,750,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $7,500,000.

Yeah that's insane. You sign that for someone htat' sgoing to start. You don't spend all of that on a backup that MAY or MAY NOT fit your scheme. They did it the right way. Drafted a backup in Dak.

Yes I would have too, but i think thats probably the only one and not at the contract he got. There really weren't alot of quality options. There were guys like Mccoy but no clear upgrades. I think what they were really aiming for was someone to back up and be groomed to eventually take over. They feel they got that in Dak, with Moore as a bridge until he is hopefully ready.

Well I cant change your mind on the scheme. I will say linehan is calling plays here and he has a history of good productive offenses. I think we have very good coaches in Linehan/Pope/Brown I don't think we struggled last season at all because of the scheme.

Weeden and Cassel both just stood their with the ball, early on the line and wr took the blame and then it fell on the qb's.

I think Romo makes it all go and last year was the perfect storm. We lost murray in free agency, then Dez in the 2nd qtr of the first game after having no offseason and finally Romo. When Romo plays he spreads the ball around. People complained and still complain about Williams but when Romo plays he is very productive. Romo comes back against Miami and all of a sudden escobar is on the stat sheet and Williams makes a huge 3rd down TD.

It was just too much to overcome. If we are healthy coming out of the summer the sky is the limit for this offense.

I agree losing Murray to FA, Romo and Dez who was dealing with injury through out the season was a big blow. heck the 90's Cowboys struggled to win games when only 1 of the triplets were out of the lineup what do you think would have happened had Troy, Emmitt and Mike all be out for much of the season?

And you believed them.

What benefit is there to lie and say that they need to fix the backup QB spot (and pass rush) and not really mean it?

You guys can try to spin it anyway you want to but the reality is the Cowboys wanted to upgrade the QB spot, couldn't find anyone in their price range and now have deemed Moore the backup. If Moore was the guy all along, it makes no sense to come out 2 months ago and claim that finding a backup QB is one of their top priorities.
