Jerry Jones says Cowboys will NOT draft QB with no. 4 pick *Super Hot Pants Mega Merge*

Jerry should buy a page on DMN to tell everyone that he isn't going to draft a QB at 4.imo this confirms that they are very interested bin the top 3 QBs.

This team was 4 and 12 last year.

Maximizing the other talent on this roster should be the focus.
Jeopardizing and unnecessarily sacrificing the younger capable players on this roster, acquired through the previous drafts (Smith, Frederick, Martin, Dez, Lee, Jones, Crawford, etc.) by ignoring and fearing the failure of drafting a QB is negligent management of a team.

Those other skilled players will longer and more promising careers than Mr. Romo.
Consolidating their skill set with a new draftable franchise QB is the correct approaching in amplifying & strengthening the overall talent on the roster for the present as well as for the future.

But ultimately only the 49'ers decide that, right?

Stash, if you want to knock them off the trade list then I fully support you (mad respect for your work on this board!), but I am holding on a tad longer until I hear that all is well around draft day. Lots of time until then!

I find that comical considering you're a guy who celebrated the trade up for the irrelevant Morris Claiborne. But a player the team has graded as a franchise QB? No way, man.

You're off-base.

I never celebrated the trade-up.

It struck me as a "Wow" and not in a good way.

Have never been a big Mo fan. Wished the pick would have worked out... but it didn't.

No... I'm not seeing this team as being talented enough to throw away draft picks to move up.

Elliot and Ramsey help this team more. Free Agency will prove they are the only options. However, Myles Jack is the Wild Card, his workout is going to be over the top.

For all of the conspiracy theorists... Jerry has been at this for more than 25 years and is always blabbing to the media, so can someone give me a rundown of all of the mind games, smokescreens and blatant lies he has executed in order to throw off other teams draft strategy? 'Cause I sure don't remember any...

Thanks very much for the compliment.

And I have no problem with you having that opinion either. I'd be naive to think that everything is rosy between Kap and the Niners too.

Elliot is not even on my radar at 4. Ramsey, Bosa, or Jack at 4 or seek a trade down.

I could live with the Ramsey pick if he was a ball hawk . Jack is not a pass rusher or MLB. His best position would be Lee's position , so why draft him if he doesn't have a position in this defense ?

Kudos to you good sir, for seeing the truth about the athletic projection called Myles Jack.

You're fortunate the site doesn't have a search engine. I know better. You did your usual. Claiborne was the best defensive player in the draft.

I'm not seeing this team ever being talented enough without the next QB. You prioritize that. Not cornerbacks. You go get that player and don't allow the Cleveland Browns to dictate your future.

As a matter of fact I PM'ed you the moment it happened... You weren't pleased. I did not register the same level of displeasure but I was not thrilled with giving up a pick.

However I understand how/why they did it... At that point Claiborne was rated very highly.

I'd rather husband the picks.

If they truly believe that a QB is the next Aikman, you wouldn't support trading up?

It would take a lot of belief the prospect was "Aikman-like" to justify it to me.

But as of today none of these guys seem to be anywhere close to that (Aikman's) talent level.

Just post the question they can't answer:

Where's my future starting quarterback in free agency?

That usually ends the conversation real quick.

I can fill each and every other need that I have with a free agent, and most often with a better and more accomplished player than any of the rookies people are clamoring for.

But ask them to tell you who that quarterback of the future is out there and you'll get nothing in response, because they've got nothing.

I'm honestly having a difficult time with this. For the price of the the pick, Dallas could grab Miller or Martin, so they kind of turns me off to Elliot, plus Dallas needs a lot of help on the defense. I am kind of leaning towards Bosa or Jack at this point.

If that was my only choices , I would trade down multiple times to get away from those players.

Ramsey and Jack are solid prospects, Bosa is the most questionable of the three. No one should be disappointed with Ramsey or Jack.
