Please -- that's just semantic - you know Jerry was considering the same deal -- he hired JG to be AT LEAST the OC with the potential for hiring him as the coordinator. If you look at the press conference. OMIGOD, he didn't give him an official title along the way. Whoopdeefreakingdee.
We're talking what happened. Not "coulda shoulda woulda." That's my point and what I said. And Jerry has NEVER hired an assistant, given him a title and THEN asked the assistant to interview for head coach.
Where is the problem with their spending? Have they made bad signings, sure. But the cap hell that folks keep predicting for them has not materialized -- and out of that they've picked up good players like Randy Thomas, Marcus Washington, and Andre Carter - yeah, they spend a ton of money -- but that's what a team with a ton of revenue should be doing.
The major problem? It's called "value." Just because you can pay 2 million for a $30,000 car doesn't mean you do it. I swear you honestly sound like your name should be Vinny or Snyder. Btw, Carter is the only one who finally after 3 seasons and millions in signing bonus had a good half year. Thomas and Washington were hurt mostly. The number of FA busts is too long to list here.
So instead of looking at Snyder's entire tenure, you just carve out the years that favor Dallas the most?
There is a reason I did this and said so in my intial post - you know, about how Jerry had run the team into cap hell?
A .7 year difference in coaching tenure. Wow. That's amazing. What an argument.
Yes, I'd say having a new coach on avg every year as opposed to on avg almost ever 2 1/2 years makes a difference.
Again, look at the increase in the team's value
Are you following here? I gave Snyder credit in this area. Of course, you have to keep harping on it because the rest of what you say is so weak.
As someone pointed out, this thread is about the Zorn hire. I address this at the beginning of each response and you have yet to factually address this point - that is, NO OWNER or GM has hired and named an assistant and asked that assistant a month later to please interview for the HC position. Madness.
As I stated earlier, you're defending what 30 year fans here are disgusted with, i.e., the whimsical way Snyder has run this franchise. And I will gladly allow you to believe that those fans, Commanders former players, the local DC media are all off their rocker when stating this on the news at bars here in DC, on the radio, to my face and on local Commanders talk shows.
Oh, as to your redundant point of the skins and cowboys being on par...uh, ok. Sure. Ask anyone, they'll agree. Not even skins fans in this thread are backing you.
Sad.
