I think he lusts after the type of attention either player would bring, not necessarily the players themselves.

But I do think we'll refrain from acquiring either, and that should speak volumes to those who are certain we'll end up with one, if not both.

I hope you're right about staying away from both, but I would not underestimate JJ's penchant for accepting risk. I honestly think this is a debate where both sides (pro- and anti- Manziel/RG3) have logical arguments. I don't want either of them, but would look on with interest if one of them ends up here.

You felt that's what they did last year after winning 13 games?

This does not make any sense, nor speak to a thing I wrote which you quoted.

I guess this is like the fan version of Jones' "How'd ya lak them three Super Bowls?".

"How'd ya lak that 12-4 and exit out of the divisional round of the playoffs?"

I'd rather have RG3 than JF but that's not saying much lol. I live in Cleveland and Manziel is really going down a slippery slope with his off field behavior. Unless this is all a setup to get the heck out of Cleveland than its probably a genius move lol :D

Slippery slope? He's going down Mt. Everest after this past weekend!

When your franchise QB is 36 years old and coming off an injury-plagued year, there's nothing "insane" about bringing in a young, talented, former 1st rounder for cheap.

Low risk, high potential reward.

Just because you personally don't like the stigma attached to those particular names doesn't mean it's a bad decision.

The real challenge for you people: figuring out how to strip Jerry of any credit if the move(s) ends up panning out for the Cowboys.

Then of course there are people like you who will ride Jerry's jock despite about 20 years of futility.

Maybe I missed it but do not see where RG said he would love to join the Cowboys

It certainly was not in the article other than Robinson saying "sources have told Yahoo! Sports".

See why we are America's Team, everyone wants to play for us no matter how screwed up an organization we have become. Do you here players say I would love to play for Philly.

That's because players know that Jerry will show them the money regardless of how bad or washed up they are. All it takes is someone with some hype around them so Jerry can market them.

RG3 doesn't want to join the Cowboys or anyone else. His best strategy right now is to sit tight in Washington and collect as much of his over inflated salary as possible. Any trade will require the renegotiation of his contract. He'll never get as much guaranteed money as he currently has. Unguaranteed money, no matter how much is useless if you can't play.

He could get cut and then still have dead money on the Commanders books minus whatever another team gives him. His current contract makes him untradeable and is a big reason why they were scared to death to play him in the first place. He gets hurt, they are on the hook no matter what.

I could be mistaken, but I'm under the impression that RG3's salary is only guaranteed in the event of injury and that they can cut him with no negative ramifications. If I'm correct, I don't think there's any doubt they cut him. They're not going to pay him that much to be an inactive #3 QB.

I would sign any of the 'deposed' starters to back up Romo for a year.

RGIII, JF, Kap, Bradford, Foles...etc.......whoever doesn't get a starting job.....if Romo stays healthy and Goff shows promise they can be traded at the deadline.

Then I draft Goff or Wentz and let them learn for a year and become the backup next year.

Year 3 they could start. Romo is due 20m in 2018 and will be 38. Trade him if he still wants to play like Peyton.

They have paid him all year to be an inactive #3. I just think they end up dumping him finally this offseason, which is probably what they should have done in September. He's just a big fat pimple on their roster right now.

That is why he didn't play Sunday. If he got hurt they would be on the hook for 16m for 2016. They can cut him after the season and be done with him completely, no cost. He will be cut and become a FA.

Same with Kap and JF imo.

If they cut him in Sept DAL would have pounced and we might have won the NFC East. It was smart to bench him since he was still on his rookie deal and it was all guaranteed anyways.

Just did a little Google research and found this article. It basically states that the skins are only on the hook for his 2016 salary in the event he is injured, which is why there was no chance they were playing him this year. They can cut him this offseason with no cap hit. Why they ever exercised the option the way they did is a real head scratcher, but they did.

I just did a similar look up. They gambled and might have won. Before the new league year hits, they will dump him. Pretty interesting how it works out with no cap hit.

Wait, how would pouncing on him won us the East?

My condolences for suffering in Cleveland, but congrats for attending the right forum.

Was there a time, however brief, that JFB tried to get himself straight up there? Didn't he fair a bit better for a while after rehab?

Has he done any benevolent or gracious things locally that looked like he cares?

Just wondering if he's really totally lost.
