Interesting. I did not know that.

Curious, why you quoted my post. Genuinely curious??

I guess because you said dictatorships are a thing of the past yet they still exist in NK because no one can go in covertly or address it militarily (without massive loss of life, which I believe holds the U.S. and others (?) at bay). You also have what strikes me as a type of dictatorship in Iran, Syria & Saudi Arabia and I believe there are still several across Africa. Hopefully all their days are numbered but yet they continue to survive. :bang2:

I didn't quote you to be dismissive or argumentative, just wanted to add to your point.

well you can beat a dog only so long until he turns on you.

True, but it's not so menacing when the dog has no teeth

How much of that is genuine and how much is just doing what you have to cause every crowd is full of undercover agents that can make you disappear if you don't?

I swear at the :24 mark of that film,there's a kid in the second row who seems to crack a smile at the circus going on around him. If the Korean secret police are monitoring the CZ, this kid is dead meat! Not to worry....they're all "Ledskins" fans!

Look at all these "criminals" mourning the death of Kim Jong Il's father in 1994:

It's a shame they all had to be killed after that golden globe performance since someone could later ask them if it was real and they could dispute it. :eek:

They don't call it killing, they think of it as food rationing

I think he will have less control than his father. I fully expect the military heads in NK to be running the show not a 20 something year old. They will use him as a token. However I don't know how much of one he is when the people of NK are constantly trying to escape into China but they also know punishment is extreamly harsh when they are caught. Heck even if you make it the punishment falls to your family.

I really want to get ahold of a friend of my who was a Provost Marshall at one of the bases on the border between the two countries. He retired not too long ago. His wife, who is a smmmmmmoking hot Latina, used to say that he wasn't worried about being on the border even during the torpedo attack incident by the North. He was only worried about Il dying and the psycho son taking over.

He seemed to think that Un would try to get out of his father's shadow and assert himself as the true leader of the country by some kind of military action on the islands on the border between teh two countries. The kid has one heck of an inferiority complex from living in the shadow of Granddaddy and Daddy Dearest. Expected either a coup or a military engagement.

Is short man's complex to blame for some crazy folks in history?

Hitler = 5-7" to 5'-8" depending on who's accurate

Napoleon = 5'-6"

Kim Jong Il = 5'-2"

Napoleon wasn't short for his day. He was average height.

Hitler was a male homosexual prostitute.

Keep us in the loop, I'd love to hear more about this. (+ pics of smmmmmmoking hot Latina)

Yep. History Channel did a thing on his early life a last year or maybe this year. He was a call boy for wealthy Jewish men for some time. History C pulled it from rebroadcast because it sort of showed him as a victim early in life.

Kim Jong Il... the man was a true legend in his own mind...

Here are actual claims in his biography and elsewhere...
  • According to his biography, he first picked up a golf club in 1994, at North Korea's only golf course, and shot a 38-under par round that included no fewer than 11 holes in one. Satisfied with his performance, he reportedly immediately declared his retirement from the sport.
  • According to his official biographers, his birth in Baekdu Mountain was prophesied by a swallow and heralded with a double rainbow and a new star in the heavens.
  • He was hailed as a demigod in North Korea while South Korea portrayed him as a vain playboy with a penchant for bouffant hair, jumpsuits and platform shoes designed to make him look taller. (he was 5'2")
  • His private train journeys were as luxurious as befitted a leader of North Korea, despite the millions left behind starving due to famine: one Russian emissary who traveled across Russia by train with Kim described how live lobsters were airlifted daily to his train.
  • Because, at his death, his father was named "Eternal President," Kim never officially became president of North Korea.
  • At university it was claimed in his biography that he wrote no fewer than 1,500 books in three years
  • His all time favorites movies included Rambo, Friday the 13th, Godzilla and The Eternal Bosom of Hot Love.
  • Kim also apparently composed six operas and enjoyed staging musicals.
  • He reportedly spread the myth across North Korea that he could control the weather with his moods, as if by magic
  • He forced waitresses at restaurants frequented by foreigners in Pyongyang to have cosmetic surgery in order to appear more "western".
  • He reportedly drank $698,895 of cognac each year in a country where average income was about $900.79.
  • A personality evaluation report on him, compiled by psychiatrists suggested that the "big six" group of personality disorders - sadistic, paranoid, antisocial, narcissistic, schizoid and schizotypal - which were shared by dictators Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Saddam Hussein were also dominant in the late North Korean leader.
  • A recent new list of luxury imports now also reveals a penchant for Chinese dolphins, French poodles, and African aphrodisiacs and is said to have developed a palate for Donkey meat as well lobster and expensive French wine.
  • Minju Joson, a North Korean newspaper, reported once that Kim invented a product described as "double bread with meat" and created factories to produce them in order to feed his students and teachers. Some observers noted it was very similar to an American-hamburger.
