Think about going from Hitchens to this.
Poor Jaylon
He is going to have deal with expectations that are through the roof
Think about going from Hitchens to this.
No offense to Sean Lee, but can't wait for Jaylon to come in even if its next year and bring leadership, swag and playmaking ability to the defense. The defense sorely needs someone like him to bring some fire and elevate those around him.
If you need to operate in a world where there is one absolute outcome and not multiple probabilities then fine. Please just understand that not all people think like that.
I am not saying that it is certain that he has regained the ability to flex his peroneal. I am saying that it is possible. There is a picture of him with shoes on not wearing the brace. I understand that you have your alternate explanations. Maybe he indeed chills out with it off and his shoes on. The point is there is no more certainty in your interpretation as opposed to any other. Both outcomes are possible.
I have never said anything along lines of absolute outcome rather what I am saying is there has been no significant changes medically or we would have heard about it.
However, what I take issue with is certain "doctors" on this board who attempt to give medical updates when they are zero access to scans, direct patient assessments or progress notes from physical therapy.
Why would we have heard about it? He says there is progress and when asked for details he demurs, saying to talk to the doctors and trainers.
That is an absolute outcome, btw. That may or may not be the case that they would report progress to us. They could also not say anything, attempt to mislead us, or any other scenario. The only certainty is that they are not required to report anything by any real authority. The NFL certainly doesn't.
And you can take all the issue you want. That has no bearing on whether or not they are correct. No one is denying that we are trying to figure out circumstances given incomplete information. just because we don't have the complete information does not mean that nothing can be determined from what information we have.
Like I said, there is a picture of him with his shoes on not wearing his brace.
First, Cowboys have plenty of good news to keep fans' interest currently. I think everyone agrees Jaylon is not fully recovered at this time. If it is for PR reasons, they are better off waiting for better new to release later on.
Hey fuzzy
One school of thought is that Jerry cannot help himself from announcing progress on Jaylon's condition.
I happen to disagree with that.
Even Jerry may need to hush on this one.

Second, Cowboys' brand has a lot to lose if their early announcement does not pan out. They should wait for more certainty before announcing anything. This is not the same as Red's silly day-to-day injury status.
Third, this is a time for Jaylon to heal and rehab, not to have even more pressure put on him.
If they wait and Jaylon's recovery is really good, it could a major announcement instead of a good progress report. Cowboys look plenty smart right now with the record and the draft. They dont need more good news right now.
He's not? There were people on this board who believed that @AdamJT13 was Stephen Jones for a while.
Both Joneses have said that they can see him returning this year. People are always trying to trick Jerry into saying things and he sometimes does but he is not the bumbling fool that many make him out to be. I've yet to see anyone ask them about the specifics of his recovery.

Perhaps "you" should just appreciate their perspective and then go ahead and assign your own likelihoods based on whatever it is you decide what makes the most sense without taking issue with anything at all. Why should a poster being a doctor, or reading up on a reported injury for that matter, give you anything whatsoever to take issue with anyway?
For the record, unless I've missed them, there's been zero offering of medical updates here, only posters talking about likely outcomes based on medical generalities from similar injuries.
Also for the record, your assumption that we'd have heard of specific medical changes is not a good one in my book. Significant medical information about players on NFI or pup lists is missed or not reported or underreported or gotten flat wrong all the time.

I doubt the Jaylon Smith we saw in college ever shows up in the NFL.

Yeah, you missed it.
The "doctor" gave the message board prognosis that those concerned about the potential for Smith to suffer "permanent imparment" should stop worrying which is tantamount to saying he knows Smith's on his way to being 100%. Dr. Cooper hasn't even gone that far in saying that.
He then went on to list very specific claims of Smith's current recovery/rehab status that has zero evidence for.
This wasn't simply a case of someone casually projecting medical outcomes based on available information. Rather, it was making very specific claims of intimate knowledge regarding Jaylon Smith's existing condition.
I just saw where he batted "you" around on the medical questions a bit. It was pretty obvious to "me" at least that he was speculating from the outside in based off of what's been reported publicly. Like we all are.
Right or wrong, I like that we've got multiple doctors on the board willing to give us their insights on some of these medical matters. Somehow, most of us never confuse that with first hand information most the time. Not sure why it's any different now except that they happen to disagree with you here.
People like CPT are why we cannot have nice things.
