I agree, i just don't agree with using the term overrated as it suggest the position is only an after thought. You need good receivers who can beat single coverage and actually catch passes when teams are dead set on stopping the run, making the position just as important as any other, thus not overrated.

Every position on the field is important but the hype that receivers are getting have made them overrated.

I think we have guys who can stretch the field. Austin and Stanback are fast enough. RW is fast enough once he gets going. There appears to be a WR on 4th and long who can stretch the field.

You need a WR who can do a lot more although if you're talking about putting a guy in who commands help over the top for a play here in there then ok. Austin is a guy who can get separation over the top and underneath. I'm not sure about him across the middle yet. But that kind of WR. Even Witten stretches the field.

Put down the pipe.

He might eventually be better than Owens but he isn't better than Owens yet.

Garrett did an awful job of getting any receiver involved in our offense last year. I refuse to believe every receiver on our roster just fell off that "bad".

With the coverages Owens faces and the way we used him I can't say whether or not he is fading.

When you guard a team like teams guarded us you should be able to expose a defense. Much like the Cards did with Fitz. They killed teams in the flats.

Brandon Marshall is a much better receiver than Terrell Owens is right now. Better route runner, better hands, and had a very poor running game to help him out.

You're ****ing high if you think other wise.

Much much much better.

He's already had twice the number of 1,000 yard seasons as Roy and he's played in half the seasons Roy has.

Yeah and where did Marshal play- with a winning franchise and stable solid coaching. By the way he had a pretty good QB too.
Where was Roy and what kind of place was that?

Roy was in a wide open offense that constantly played from behind, so his already inflated stats don't look so impressive considering Mike Furrey, Shaun McDonald, and Calvin Johnson have all out-performed him in one way or the other.

Marshall has performed, and is widely regarded as one of the next great receivers in this league by most professionals. Roy, well, lets keep making excuses and throwing around words like 'talent' and 'physical gifts'. Nice try.

yeah and lets act like you know anything.
Sure coming from behind-with the other sides pass rush coming against an offensive line that was mediocre at best. With a poor coaching staff and an atmosphere of defeat that usually started just before the national anthem.
Then last year I hold nothing against any other WR with the mess that was going on there and Garret screwing up. Not tomention injury to Romo...
and jee- Roy was injured too.

Marshall is widely regarded as having a lot of potential. Only casual knowledge people like yourself regardhim as one of the next great WRs.
Right now more scouts and coaches would pick Roy vs Marshall if given the choice- but then they KNOW SOMETHING about football.

Somewhere in between all that sound and fury all I could read was you making more countless excuses for Roy. Like I said, keep throwing around words like talent, physical gifts, and potential.

And you're an idiot if you think most professionals around this league would take Roy over Brandon Marshall. That was almost ignore list worthy.

They would?

I'd like to see the evidence of this.

Marshall is nearly universally regarded as a top 10 WR in the league. Roy Williams is fortunate if he makes the top 20.

Don't take my word for it. Do a little research.

Where do you do your research=PFT?

Marshall as I pointed out has had the benefit of being in a much better situation. As regards who would pick and choose...
Roy had more then a few teams chasing him last year. How many were trying to trade for Marshall. AND if you say you want sources then come up with some to back up your claims.

I bet you don't know what you are talking about. Sig bet says Roy Will out produces Bmarsh in 2 of the following 3. Receptions, Tds, and Yards.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. That's almost more absurd than my 16-0 Cavs sig bet.
