Now now, McCarthy isn't exactly Vince Lombardi. He’s done with ownership as we all should be. How this franchise stays afloat is beyond me.

Spoiler alert....its not the Cowboys.Belichick's contract at North Carolina includes a $10 million buyout if he leaves prior to June 1, 2025, though it's not entirely clear whether it would apply if he returns to the NFL in the coming weeks. Either way, it's a fraction of Belichick's salary by the end of his Patriots tenure, making it relatively easy to get out of, whether an NFL team or Belichick himself pays the buyout.
With few successful NFL head coaches currently available, at least one other team also has continued to check in on Belichick's status.
With Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy eligible to talk to other teams after midnight Tuesday, there still haven’t been any negotiations on a new deal with Dallas, per sources. It’s now looking like McCarthy will indeed become a coaching free agent, with Chicago and New Orleans both expected to be interested in speaking with him.
Kellen Moore come on downIf you told me six months ago he'd be gone, I would be happy.
After Jerrys recent comments about not paying coaches, I am pretty sure whoever they hire will be a downgrade.
his thoughts don't align with ours, he's going to be a hard passTime to start the process of lining up interviews.
Ben Johnson may have too steep and asking price. But, I'd still bring him in to pick his brain about his offensive philosophy, roster building thoughts, etc.
I'd use all the interviews for informative purposes.
The New coach for the Dallas cowboys will be Mike Zimmerso we haven't interviewed anyone... Jerry as HC in 2025 as the last hoorah?
You are right, Vince Lombardi doesn't take Jerry's request for an interview. Now now, McCarthy isn't exactly Vince Lombardi.
Yeah it's almost like the league is telling you that your perception of him is off.The Bears and Saints can have him.
I'm befuddled as to why McCarthy keeps getting head coaching offers after like 8 straight disappointing seasons. The wheels came off by the end of his tenure in Green Bay, and he brought nothing to the table over 5 years in Dallas. There have been a lot better coaches fired in a lot less time for a lot less cause.
Good points!“still haven’t been any negotiations on a new deal with Dallas, per sources”
So they never even started negotiating is how I’m reading that? That would make denying the Bears interview far worse. And just further prove Jerry is all about theatrics and media headlines. Just make a decision, no need to have this “looming deadline.” They’ve had months to decide if they wanted McCarthy back or not.
Also terrifies me that Jerry probably already knows who the next coach is going to be if they aren’t in a rush to get interviews started
Mike McCarthy doesn't have to ask "WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON OUT THERE?!" He knows. You are right, Vince Lombardi doesn't take Jerry's request for an interview.
Same reason Dak is the highest paid QB in the league. There's like 15 competent head coaches and QBs. So half the teams are desperate. The Bears and Saints can have him.

Mike McCarthy is probably sitting on his couch staring at his clock counting down the minutes until he’s free.Mike McCarthy doesn't have to ask "WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON OUT THERE?!" He knows.
The same Mike Zimmer who just a few weeks ago talked about how difficult it was to get through 2024 and wasnt sure if he wanted to come back as a coordinator? That isnt the guy you want to bring on as HC.....so yeah you're probably right, I bet Jerry has the paperwork all typed up already. The New coach for the Dallas cowboys will be Mike Zimmer
LOL actually make sense. They’d then have every aspect of the team under family control. Marketing, Operations, GM, Coaching.Jerry says his Grandson has been watching a lot of tape and is ready to go.
