McGregor vs Mayweather

The thing is that it doesn't matter either way. Even if he didn't gas, unless he KO'd Mayweather, he wasn't going to win.

I saw it posted last night the judges score cards. Only 1 of the 3 gave the first three round to McGregor. One of them gave him the first round only. And the third judge gave all of the rounds to Mayweather including a 10-8 round.

So McGregor could have been the energizer bunny and he wasn't going to win that fight without a KO.

Tyson was a short armed fighter who was destined to have a short time at the top. It was genetics. Nobody was tougher or had better skills.

I don't agree.
His greatness run, length of run, was railroaded by a few things.

1. Cus died
2. Don King
3. Tyson himself
4. The hip hop crew that took over his management
5. Tyson himself

He would have avoided jail and retired a very famous and wealthy man. Even Rooney was good for him. Not to mention Jim Jacobs. All good boxing people who would have looked after him.

I think ultimately Tyson was destructive in many ways. In the ring and outside. He ends his greatness run.... maybe a little later.

Sure, many things united to derail Tyson. All your points are valid. To me, inside the boxing ring, a fighter with Tysons build, like Joe Frazier, had to be at his absolute best to continuely beat much taller, long armed opponents. When he was distracted or not highly motivated he was at a tremendous physical disadvantage. Over time his many personal and proffesional problems combined with his physical disadvantages brought him down. No way a Buster Douglas KO's a prime Tyson. But, he had the perfect build to do it. I watched a young Tyson with his hands full with a much bigger Quick Tillis. It was a sign of what was to come as Tyson aged. Joe Frazier was very similar in that regard.

Bingo!

Although Buster was counted out but they let the fight go on!

Tyson's self-destructive ways also factors into what him so great inside the ring, but Cut dying is what opened the door to expedite the free falling for Mike. He would have went off the rails anyway but maybe not as soon if Cus was still around.

Yeah wasn't proper till he got gassed.

Cardio won this fight. Nothing else.
You've got to go back 6 years to find a KO by Mayweather, age, style and lack of punch is the only reason this fight lasted as long as it did.
GGG or Canelo would KO McGregor within the first 3 rounds.

I'm not even going to go there but you're probably right.

It still shouldn't take a Pro Boxer 10 who is 49-0 10 rounds to take out an amateur if he had so much skill.

That is why skill was a distant 2nd to all of this and fatigue was the clear cut reason why Mayweather took over the fight.

McGregors length was a huge problem and when he gassed the hands came down.

He was never in trouble of getting KO'd though. You can make the argument that he wasn't defending himself but Floyd wasn't going to knock out Connor because he physically just can't.

Floyd is not a knockout boxer. But when you are gassed. It's different. You cannot take unanswered combinations for that long. No one can. That's where it was going.

Nice. Thanks:bow::bow:

Considering his tax problems, I can't see him donating $200 million. Even without them, I can't see him donating $200 million and this isn't a knock on him, it's just...$200 million.

Yea, I didnt think much of it because I wouldnt put something like that donation past him. He does crazy things with money!

No. His punches had no leverage on them. He would have knocked Floyd down if they did because Floyd wasn't fighting defensively early in the fight.

Along with boxing skill, there is also strategy involved. It is always a good strategy to let a less experienced or inferior opponent tire themselves out. Mayweather has done this in the past. It wasn't surprising he would do it again. It also takes some skill to implement this strategy. Positioning ones self to not take too many big hits or move in a way to conserves more energy than your opponent. There is a definite skill to that.
