Looks like it's going to get nasty. Hunker down and ride her out, or him. And why Henri, with an i? Storms were mostly referred to as she's because men named them. If we let women name them, they'd all be named awesome person followed by a number.

Good luck, Runny, and I hope the power doesn't fail or for long. That seems to be the major concern from what I read.
Looks like the worst of it has passed, both the rain and wind. The rain isn't over, but I'm not real worried about that.

Oh, forgive me! That was never my intention. Wait a minute! I knew you'd focus on the Kryptonite and avoid the burning question. Don't make me name a hurricane after you!
What burning question? You mean why Han didn't say I love you back? He just wanted to play it cool, and get the upper hand in the relationship. He was a smug SOB, even though he didn't even know what a parsec is.

Evening Pops and everyone!

Stay safe Runny and any other Zoners being impacted by this crazy Frenchman! Please, please, please be careful and stay as safe as possible.

My guy is supposed to be flying to Boston early in the morning for work and I’m terrified! Honestly hoping his flight is canceled or that he gets held up in Chicago (better still and selfishly, that he doesn’t go at all!. I hate being away from him for a week or two at a time.) All the same, my heart goes out to those in all states being affected by this mess. I wish there were something I could do to help.

Prayers for safety and healing for all going through this.

The storm fizzled out earlier than they expected. I didn't lose power, have any trees fall, or get any water in my basement. If they're flying, they know what they're doing.

I always get a kick out of people getting mad at the forecasters because it's not as bad as they predict. What? Are they disappointed?

That last hurricane that came into Houston and just sat over the city for days was predicted to bring as much as 15 inches of rain, which would have been catastrophic to this area. I overheard two people at the store the week after chiding the weather people for missing it. At the same time, they blame the weather people for not predicting the flood that hit this area 3 years ago that was catastrophic. Guess they missed the guy I saw explaining how massive rain and swollen rivers up stream usually means a problem downstream.

Glad it wasn't bad for you, Runny, and you didn't lose power and access to Asian porn. I worried about that and decided to do my part to cover in case you had lost power. "Hellllllooooo ladies, Runny sends his regards. I'm CC, his substitute pornalyzer, tell me, what does Runny usually like"? A 73 tear old man blushing is not a pretty sight.

I used to take a lot of grief back when I was a school superintendent about potential bad weather days. It was a “lose-lose” proposition either way.

If even one snowflake fell, every student and teacher was praying for a school closure. About 80% of the parents wanted school open even if the ice was a foot deep and roads dangerous. School was their babysitter. On potential bad weather days, I was up no later than 3:00 AM getting reports on road conditions from the transportation director. He would drive all over the district because roads could be ok in certain areas and not all in others. We would usually wait until 5:45 at the latest to make the final call based on the roads.

When there are buses carrying children around making the safe call was paramount. But good luck explaining a weather decision to any side, lol!

I was on Amazon looking at pillows for if momma wants to stay with me. I've redone one of my bedrooms for her. A new bed and bedding. The first pillow is too soft for her tastes, so I was looking at firmer pillows and ran across this butt pillow. I suspect the models had to be caught pre hysterical fits of laughter in their photos. One reviewer didn't want to like the pillow, but couldn't bring himself to say anything negative about it. Since I don't want to be beat with this butt, so I'm ordering a regular one for her. (Translation: it costs $150.00 but it would be so funny.) Amazon can be entertaining and has lots of stuff!

You were the kind of superintendent that I saw as the enemy, waiting until 5:45AM to make the call. Spoil sport!!!!! Hell, I'd miss an extra Friday night because you wouldn't make the call at 7pm so I could get my howlin' on.

Until I became a parent of said small persons in need of a babysitter during the day with more responsible adults than me. Because I'd become a kid again on snow days, take the day off and play with the boys in the snow. And if they didn't call it a snow day, I'd be pissed because I had no one to play with as I'd already anticipated the snow day and misbehaved on a school night like it was a Friday.

I just transferred my love of snow days from school to work. Sometimes, I wonder if I haven't had a snow day life? I didn't even have Peter Pan Syndrome and not want to grow up, I didn't even want to be his age. My first year of my life, nursing and napping, was the best of my life.

I grew up in the mountains of Northern Jersey in the 70's, and there had to be a lot of snow to cancel school. They put chains on the bus tires there.

Morning, Pops and peeps. We got home from California yesterday afternoon. We took the birthday party to Fort Bragg, which is an ocean-side town in Northern California. It's beautiful up there. The state is plagued with wildfires and smoke, but it didn't stop the partying. I am sooooooooo glad to be home.
