so looking through the responses, these are the deals you guys would've wanted, just FYI...i really don't see anything on this list that might not be available after the draft or after final cuts. I'm not praising or whining about the FO at this point.

M. Wilkerson signs at 8m for 1 year good deal but a lot of risk thinking maybe wanted to be in 3-4
Haloti Ngata unknown terms (Risen Star) His pretty much done, does have good leadership, body is breaking down
Peppers signs a 1 year 5 million If anyone other than the Panthers offered him anything I think he would have retired.
Danny Shelton not sure the trade parameters
Carlos Hyde Signed 3-year, $15M deal with CLE Would not have come to Dallas to back up Zeke
John Brown Signed 1-year, $5M deal with BAL Would not have come to Dallas to take Brice Butlers spot
Nigel Bradham Re-signed 5-year, $40M deal with PHI
Bradley McDougald Re-signed 3-year, $13.5M deal with SEA My guess is he likes seattle, dallas should have tried to sign him
Beau Allen Signed undisclosed deal with TB
Donte Moncrief 1 year, $7 million Way overpaid no way he comes to dallas to compete for a spot
Josh Kline 4 years, $26 million I though he would be in Dallas
Justin Ellis 3 years, $15 million
Tavon Wilson 2 years, $7 million

Trading a fifth-round pick and backup receiver for a seventh-round pick and DE Michael Bennett He would have never come to dallas
Trading a fourth- and sixth-round pick for a 2019 seventh-round pick and ILB Alec Ogletree If his cap number was not so high I would have loved for Dallas to get him.

I would also love him on that contract.

Kind of a no-brainer for a team looking for a speed WR, which we ought to have been.

I can't get what the 49ers are thinking, letting Hyde walk and then giving McKinnon 4/$30MM. That's crazy.

Agreed. A head scratcher.

Then you must have ignored me when I answered.

Haloti Ngata.

Now continue to defend a failed front office and then whine like a little girl when you see the same team next season.
I think you missed his point. He wasn't referring to the often criticized front office and their failings over the last 15 to 20 years. He's asking about the now. What signings would people have wanted to do or match? Yes, there's understanding that they couldn't have done much because of the previous years and the cap situation. But what player at what price would fans have wanted to try to match?

That doesn't really answer the question. Does he sign for less than 10AAV?

Trent murphy just signed 3/$21M-$30M who is a defensive linenan but on the edge.

He missed all of 2017 with a torn ACL
I think he signs for around 10mm AAV

actually, i think that was a good signing for them, and alot of teams were trying to land McKinnon, not everyone has the bell cow RB mentality that we have.

The only deal I would consider a steal so far, was Bradham's deal with Philly. Pretty sure he gave a hometown discount. I would take him for that money though, easily.

I can see giving the guy a shot at that open starting role, but making an all-around guy like that the league's 4th highest paid RB? Gah.

Ngata, Wilkerson, and Brown are the only ones that stuck out to me as guys I'd want for prices I'd want.

And for each of those contracts, I could give you 10 deals that I thought were horrible. Free agency has been a mess so far, and overall I'm glad that we're sitting it out.

John Brown for 1y5m, I would definitely do. This team has needed speed at WR forever. I love Bease, and Switzer's potential, but Brown can fly.

The rest? No thanks.

I would cut Dez and Witten, trade a 2nd this year and a 3rd next year (Dallas could potentially get a 3rd round comp pick for losing Hitchens at that 9m per deal) for Earl Thomas and then extend him using the $ acquired by cutting Dez and Witten..

It's hard to not look at the money involved in those contracts, but at the end of the day... does Solder improve the Giants OL? do the moves the Eagles made help their D? When the season starts nobody is going to care who signed for what...if they are winning

The hell it doesn't. Cap space is everything.

Would signing 1 tech for $100 million lead to more wins? Absolutely, until we'd be forced to release Dak and Zeke as cap casualties.

No, both of those deals nost likely dont make them better. They are having to let better players walk.

Speaking of a Tavon.

Any interest in Tavon Austin? He sucked in LA but can fly. Maybe a cheap attempt at a reclamation project?

Ive brought him up a couple times, he's one of my favorite targets.

He would be multi-faceted for our team. Assuming punt return duties, COP running back, and depth speed WR. He makes way too much sense for us to actually get him.

word is we are looking for a top tier WR, I'm not sure Tavon is top tier but he is a playmaker, which could go along way around here.... I've also heard Cam Meredith's name mentioned as a possible target.

I always thought Tavon Austin was a really talented guy in a really crappy situation. I don't think we're the guys to use him, but I think he could blow up in a place like GB or NE.

I'm not big on this game but I might have figured out a way to keep Hitchens. I like him, I think he is worth paying and I think we are going to have a really tough time replacing him this coming season. JMO

I think because we have a need, people are overrating Hitchens.

He's now paid like a Top 5 MLB. He's not worth that. Not even close. So while it sucks that we may have created another hole at LB, you can't jump into the quicksand because you dropped your favorite jelly bean in it.

he's pretty awesome to me, and should flourish in a full time role and a better fit for what shanahan likes to do. prolly sees him as his tevin coleman. 4th highest paid rb sound's crazy but there aren't really any mammoth paid backs out there.

also i like and would have signed demario davis to the deal the saints just gave him. less money, and shorter terms than hitch got. and he's pretty much a stud.
