Brilliant! Because we all know 4th rounders never contribute to the team that drafts them. It just never happens.

For instance from Commanders History.

1996...Stephen Davis. He was a total bust in Washington right?

I mean 5760 yards rushing and 45 TDs is replaceable every day right?

Yeah, you're right, it isn't worth risking anything on draft picks. There's no evidence any pick after Day 1 ever helped the Skins or any team right? None of them last more than the length of pre-season. Certainly they don't contribute for 10 years or more.

Much better to overpay for a guy who can give you 2 or 3 years of mediocre football because that is the formula for success.

Without a doubt, one of the dumbest stances ever taken on this forum.

I totally agree with your assessment...... That had to be one of the dumbest things MB has ever said and Lord knows he sure says a lot of them.:lmao2:

Why even have this thread? It's meaningless. I click on and people are giving me their opinion on Artose Pinner. I thought this was a thread for cuts?

Arizona Cardinals – Reached an injury settlement with DT Kenny King.

Atlanta Falcons – Placed CB Chris Cash on IR.

Baltimore Ravens – Waived DT Remi Ayodele, TE Bobby Blizzard, S Robb Butler, LB Jimmy Cottrell, OT Rob Droege, K Aaron Elling, DE Roderick Green, WR Travis LaTendresse, C Thatcher Szalay, CB Duvol Thompson. Released P Leo Araguz and placed G Brian Rimph on IR.

Analysis: No surprises here. Elling was their kickoff specialist. The release of Araguz means rookie Sam Koch won the punting job.

Chicago Bears - Waived CBs Dion Byrum, Abraham Elimimian, and Carlos Hendricks, WRs Craig Bragg and Mark Philmore, DTs Delbert Cowsette, RB Andre Hall, S Jason Harmon, G Travis Leffew, and LB Jeremy Cain. Released OL Steve Edwards.

Analysis: No surprises here. A small surprise was that backup DL Michael Haynes was kept at least for the time being.

Cleveland Browns -Released OL Ross Tucker.

Analysis: Probably one of the bigger surprises of the releases thus far considering he was their starting center. According to a league source, the team plans to start OL Lennie Friedman as their starting center for now.

Detroit Lions - Placed S Idrees Bashir on IR. Released TEs Dave Pearson Sean McHugh, RB Artose Pinner, WRs Devale Ellis, Charles Rogers, and Glenn Martinez, OTs Clint Stickdorn and Kelly Butler, LBs James Davis and James Hargrave, S Marcus Demps, OLs Fred Matua and Brock Gutierrez, DTs Lynn McGruder and Cleveland Pinkney, DEs Marcus Parker, Damien Gregory, and Claude Harriott, CBs Dee McCann, Harrison Smith, and LaMarcus Hicks.

Analysis: The handwriting was on the wall for Rogers who never seemed to show any consistency in practice. Martinez could find a spot on the practice squad as could Matua. Pinner wasn’t a good fit for their offensive scheme. Butler should be able to find a job as a backup.

Houston Texans - Released DEs Jeff Charleston and Earl Cochran, LB Sam Cowart, S Kevin Curtis, CB Mark Estelle, TE Aaron Halterman, OL David Loverne, FB Nick Luchey, LB Kenneth Pettway, QBs Cody Pickett and Quinton Porter, WRs Richie Ross and Jake Schifino, RB Antowain Smith, S John Walker, LB Courtney Watson, OL Chris Watton, CB Tramon Williams, and DE Darrell Wright.

Analysis: No real surprises. The team currently has two quarterbacks on the roster. Smith was beaten out by second-year RB Vernand Morency and rookie RB Chris Taylor for a backup job. According to a league source, the team is interested in re-signing Schifino.

New England Patriots - Traded RB Patrick Cobbs to Pittsburgh for an undisclosed draft choice. Released LBs Monty Beisel, Chad Brown, and Jeremy Mincey, WRs Eddie Berlin and John Stone, QB Corey Bramlet, TE Chris Luzar, CBs Eric Warfield and Vernell Brown, and DT Eddie Freeman.

Analysis: No big surprises. Beisel was demoted to third straight recently after the team signed veteran LB Junior Seau. Brown is clearly at the end of the line. The team has six receivers on the roster of which are Chad Jackson who is hurt and Deion Branch who is holding out. Look for them to sign or trade for a veteran receiver.

New Orleans Saints – Waived CBs Josh Lay and Grant Mason, QB Adrian McPherson, DT Joe Minucci, DE Javon Nanton, and DE Jimmy Verndon. Released LB Jay Foreman, C Dwayne Ledford, TE Billy Miller, and DT Josh Williams. Placed WR/KR/PR Michael Lewis on PUP.

Analysis: McPherson got hurt and could be re-signed. Lewis is a small surprise as it was thought he was close to coming back from a knee injury.

New York Jets – Acquired DE Bobby Hamilton from the Oakland Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick.

Analysis: The versatile end will provide some badly needed veteran depth.

Oakland Raiders – Traded DE Bobby Hamilton to the New York Jets for an undisclosed draft pick. Reach an injury settlement with RB Joe Hall.

Analysis: The trade of Hamilton leaves them a little thin on depth at end

Philadelphia Eagles – Reached an injury settlement with LB Greg Richmond

Pittsburgh Steelers – Released WRs Walter Young and Lee Mays, P Mike Barr, QBs Shane Boyd and Omar Jacobs, DE Orien Harris, RB Cedric Humes, OL Tim Brown, TE Charles Davis, FBs Branden Joe and John Kuhn, S Mike Lorello, CB Anthony Madison, DE Shaun Nua, DT Scott Paxson, LB Richard Seigler, LB Ron Stanley, OT Brandon Torrey, and TE John Dekker . Acquired RB Patrick Cobbs for an undisclosed draft pick. Placed OL Barrett Brooks on IR.

Analysis: The release of Mays and Young means veteran WR Quincy Morgan and rookie WR Willie Reid made the final roster. Boyd or Jacobs could find a spot on the practice squad but for the time being, the team only has two quarterbacks on the active roster. Humes could find a spot on the practice squad.

St. Louis Rams - Signed RB Stephen Davis/A>. Released S Deandre’ Eiland, LB Mike Goolsby, P Andy Groom, TE Alex Holmes, WR Brandon Middleton, G/T Ben Noll, WR Brad Pyatt, C Donovan Raiola, DE Matthew Rice, WR Clinton Solomon, OT Drew Strojny, WR Taylor Stubblefield, and RB John David Washington..

Analysis: No surprises

Cowboys released WR/KR Skyler Green.

Coach Bill Parcells' favorite "fat boy" couldn't quite handle the punt return duties in Dallas. He might get another shot from someone else, but Green doesn't bring much receiving ability to the table.

Dude, you keep posting this stuff and I keep clicking to see who we cut. What was the point of posting this again?

Giants released S Charlie Peprah, TE Wade Fletcher, TE Darcy Johnson, DT Marcus Green, G Kevin McAlmont, DE Willie Evans, FB Tony Jackson, LB Nick McNeil, and S Quentin Harris.

An undrafted rookie cornerback, Kevin Dockery of Mississippi State, has made the team. Peprah was a fifth-round pick and is thought to be headed for the practice squad, as is Johnson.

Interesting, Petitti and Boiman was on everyone's keep list. Looks like we are either keeping people we don't expect, or picking up people from other teams.

I'm surprised that we were not able to get a draft pick from someone looking for help at OT for Petitti.

Batiste is so big they had to cut him twice

and how come they waived Rob but released all the others

Perhaps our LBs are seen as better than our OLs. Dude, if you are cut from our mediocre line (our worse spot), then you probably ain't worth a trade. Now one of our LBs, that is a different story with all the talent we have there.

BTW, he was cut from our needest area, and he did lead the league in sacks allowed. That doesn't make teams really want to trade for the kid.

TE Chris Luzar might be someone we are interested in. He is a big TE from U.Va., so one of Parcells' friends coached him.

He was a fourth round pick of the Jags a few years ago and was just released by NE (who has a ton of TEs).
