He was not asked. The only coach who had input was Wade.

Are you aware of what Wade said and do you think J.G. wanted T.O. around?

I am shocked that you responded to this thread. Shocked I tell you.

Why do you attack former TO supporters. He is gone.
Move on.

Now: Of course Garrett"I respect Owens as a players" and Romo had a big part in Owens going. Dont be naive.

I'm surprised they didn't want Jason Garrett's input.

After all, the O is his show.

Anyhow, I need to make a Stephen Jones jersey.

He is my hero.
When he returned from St. Louis after not taking the Rams job, Garrett was asked about Owens by Calvin Watkins. This is what he said.

"I certainly have a lot of respect for him as a player," Garrett said. "And we'll just leave it at that."

Link to statement above.

A few days later he was asked if his return meant Owens was gone and he said he would never give Jerry a demand like that. I searched for the link but can't find it.

Because it is a free country and I find their whining humorous.

I'm not naive. I know better. Move on.

I remember that.

I just think it took a united front from the proponents to convince Jerry Jones getting rid of Terrell Owens was the correct course of action.

The media guessed that Jones was looking for anyone to side with him in wanting to keep Owens.

If so, no one did.

Interesting. So a TO supporters point of view is whining if they believe there is more than one side to story.

Got it. Thanks.

For the record, he is gone and just about forgotten for me(a mere footnote in cowboys history). I want to win. Dont care how. It is funny how transparent some of the TO haters just SHOW how much they hate and are happy is gone instead of taking the thread in its proper direction.

Its quite humorous. I just read and laugh lately. Your are one of the funnier ones when it comes to that.

I almost agree with every word you've said, but I wouldn't dream of limiting Terrell Owens to bashing only Garrett and Romo in the future. Not by a long shot.

I wouldn’t either but that’s his modus operandi. He usually attacks the Q.B. and/or the coach.

I do not know Wade's position on Owens. I did ask.

Garrett could have worked with Owens. I think he is probably relieved he is gone and doesn't have to. We learned from Quarterback Coach when he met Romo in Orlando that Romo is excited about this year and promises the team will be together.

I have no doubts at all that Owens had worn thin on Garrett and Romo. None at all. But no players were consulted by Jerry. Those are his words not mine. He talked only to his Head Coach and scouting staff. His words, not mine. He consulted respected guys around the NFL. That was widely reported.

Jerry was basically the only one on Owens side here and he quickly realized everyone was right. Owens was bringing the team down.

A few things...

To WG - You would post a story about Tony Romo starting his car, but I post a story where Terrell Owens openly 'blames' Romo and Garrett for being released from the team which was the biggest story for months on here and divided the board in half and you are taking a shot at me? lol.

To the people who want the story to go away - It would have if fatmouth didn't put two prominent Cowboys on blasy thru his stupid Twitter account.

To the TFC - We told you so, lol.

To the people who think it's a fake - Yakuza Rich especially - You don't think I made sure that it was his account? What have I been blogging for 8 seconds? So now that one or two Twitter accounts came up fake we are going to never believe anything from Twitter?

To Primetime42 - It's a punk move? lol. Surely the only punk here is Terrell Owens and his defenders. And I would do whatever it takes to make sure the world is once again reminded of it. I would hope his former teammates (and most are still teammates of Romo's) in Dallas who have been standing behind him publicly know what a punk he really is. So if there are nine places reporting it then that's nine different sources for them to find out about it. I would hope some of the guys who are still holding a grudge against Romo would now see who the real ******* is and always was in all of this.

My friend.

Owens was a pain in the butt and disruptive. I know.

But if you are believing everything that was said. You are being naive.

So, I have been wondering...

If anyone ever made an "unappealing" comment about Terrell Owens during the past three years, the customary reply has usually been something like, "He's a Dallas Cowboy now. Get over it already. Yada yada yada."

Okay.

He has been released. So, do folks automatically get to say, "He's not a Dallas Cowboy now. Get over it already. Yada yada yada" for the next three years or what..

Just curious. Scout's honor. :)

When it comes to T.O, I am on the fence. I was always worried about him blowing up at any moment. I do understand both sides of the argument and as a Cowboy fan first and foremost I hope we got it right. But Red Jesus, Romo and Wade scare me just as much as T.O. did.

If what I am about to say doesn't penetrate your melon, blame yourself. I am going to be as clear as I can be.

For the record...I do not "hate" Terrell Owens. I have very little respect for that particular word and finger pointing whine. Yes, it is a whine by people who cant stand the fact that someone else has a different opinion. Whine, whine, whine.

If I did "hate" Owens I NEVER would have worked to gather donations from members of this site, used my personal Paypal account to gather the monies and send them on, donate money myself, and contact his Camp Directors to send 5 boys over 2 years to his football camps. EVER. I wouldn't have done it. My money. My time spent. Let that sink in.

I appreciate his contributions to the team for 3 years and I especially appreciate the fact that Owens personally met with those boys, had his picture taken with them, and took the time to talk with them and care. I do not wish him harm. So there is no "hate."

I do not think he is a bad guy at all. I have repeatedly said his only problem is he thinks he can fix the media perception of himself by talking. He can't. Unfortunately he does not get it and can't shut his festering gob. He has NO ONE to blame but himself that he is not here. It is entirely his fault.

The closest he can get to someone else to blame is Stephen Jones who thankfully saw the havoc being created and put his foot down. God bless Stephen Jones as far as I am concerned.

I am glad he is gone. He did not do enough in 2008 to satisfy me, and the team suffered from his shenanigans. I may not have been the first on the site to suggest I would get rid of him for 2009, but I was one of the first. I don't run from that. I don't hide from it. I embrace it. If you can't see that as anything but my "hate" for him then I pity you for your extremely narrow views. You have my sympathy if that is really your thought process in action.

Now is there whining? Oh hell yes there is whining. Non stop. For months any time someone had an opinion that was anti-Owens we were answered with this...

:banjo:

Forgive us "haters" if we find it funny how badly that crap backfired in people's very smug faces. Or don't forgive us. I could really give a damn whether you do or don't.

The only thing I can tell you is what a wise old cowboy once told me.

"A man who straddles a fence gets a sore crotch."

I hope we got it right too. Do I know we did? Of course not. I do not have a crystal ball. I don't even have a magic 8 ball.

On the Terrell Owens front, I have to say the answer is a deafening "Yes."

We tried and it didn't work out as we hoped, it was time for a change.

Will the team immediately be better without Owens' presence? No idea.

But it was time to fold that hand of cards and try a new one.

So the guy who works for the team (whose name you know) that told me he wasn't consulted is a liar?

Good info, thanks.

I think it was Mickey Spagnola who had that interview with Garrett, but I can't find it. Maybe I am wrong. I know it is posted on this site somewhere.
