If anyone on this board believes Jerry is going to release Henson after this camp, they are simply ignorant!!

I don't care how bad he struggles, Jerry has invested time and money in him and he ain't about to let him go this soon. Will he be the 3rd QB? Maybe so. But if anyone believes former FA Tony Romo is our future they are sadly mistaken. Romo is nothing but another Jason Garrett at best.

If Henson doesn't develop we will have to look elsewhere for our future.

All that being said, going back to the original post in this thread, IF Parcells did bring another vet in, (which I don't think he will), it obviously would be Vinny.

I want all 3 of our QBs to succeed and prosper. I've been firmly entrenched as a Henson hopeful, but you won't ever see me taking swipes at Tony Romo. What purpose does that serve? When some were bashing him for playing golf and trying to qualify for the US Open I stayed out of it. I'm not a Drew Bledsoe fan particularly but the news he is shining doesn't depress me, it thrills me. The idea of good QB play is too good for me to pass up.

Don't think I'm singling you out because I'm not. There's a large contingent of former debaters for a certain QB who all have the same agenda. Newsflash, Henson is no longer a threat to your candidate. Of course I realize that the reason most of you root for him to fail is that guys like me who were critical of your star are excited about Henson.

In other words, it really has nothing to do with the players, you've made it personal. Again, you're not alone, so don't feel singled out. But you can stop pretending that you're clever. I agree with all of this. Bledsoe is the guy for now. And deservedly so. The pups aren't ready. Let me be clear, too: for as long as he remains the guy, I hope he plays lights out.

But I don't think we're talking about a "QB debate" here, in any real sense. What Hos and I are inveighing against is a mean-spirited agenda which - almost inconceivably,to me - has as its principal target the failure of one of our prospects. If we had clowns on this board going out of their way to slag Canty and highlight any of his sub-par practices the absurdity of it all would be readily apparent. But because we're talking about a QB and, as Hos suggests, our QB situation in recent years appears to have left some open wounds that won't heal, somehow it's seen as acceptable.

Look, I don't pretend not have a dog in this race. I'm an unabashed Henson supporter. I think he has the pedigree and star potential to be the next in a string of marquee QBs which has served as the foundation of this great franchise (though I admit that lately it's been difficult to justify that view). Others needn't share that view. But to go out of their way to constantly rub the noses of those of us who do hold that view in unreflective crap is both beyond provocative and, I dare say, contrary to the spirit of what it means to be a fan.

This is what I'm talking about. The ones that get so offended and enomored with political correctness are the ones with an emotional attachment.

The blind homerism here is apparent ... the spirit of being a fan is being passionate about your team ...

Hensons suporters over estimated his chances to be NFL ready last year. This year its almost denial. Romo is taking the job from him. Good news is we are going to hava nice prospect backup QB.

I don't have anything against him personally, but if we have fans/coaches who keep holding onto this pipe dream that Henson is somehow our future QB (or even future backup, for that matter) it will only hold our team back as we wait, year after year, for him to be ready when we can do in FA or the draft next year to solve it now.

I tend to fluctuate between patience and amusement. Right now I am amused. I doubt he picks up the gauntlet I tossed down. The bruises from the last time he tried are just starting to disappear. Still you never know, he may give it another shot.

Should Henson turn into the leader of this team, I will have no problem admitting I was horribly wrong. You seem to think I wish bad luck onto Henson. I dont hope he fails, I'm making an observation that he is not playing like a guy who could one day start for us. This is just a repeat of the BS from the last time. When the Carter group was blaiming everything on the so-called haters when in fact 90% of all threads started on the QB issue were started by the pro-Carter side.

The same thing is happening here, with the same posters doing it, but we know THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, does it?

I think ignorance is believing that Henson would make a better option than Bledsoe as you seem to forget is what causes people to have the stance that I have. And that that IS your ignorant stance.

If you've paid close attention here, I don't think Romo is a good option at #2. And it's sad that Henson - given the fact that all of you guys ride his jock so hard - can't even beat him out.

We're in trouble if Drew Bledsoe goes down. Ever think about that? Hell no. You're too busy crying about someone attacking your precious and YOUR stupid agenda. It's an issue. And an IMPORTANT ONE. Like it or not.
