Rat problem

Just some cheap dry food, a little tuna on top might make the scent stronger.

i dont eat canned fish.
so i will just buy the cheapest canned fish - probably sardines..

i hope the cats would not be busy fighting over the fish instead of smelling/waiting for the rat(s)

"i am only there for 1 or 2 days per month.
the house is in SF subs.
houses have 0.5-0.7 acres each. "

.7 acres near SF? The best way to get rid of the problem is to sell the house and move somewhere else...... like Fiji ......

......where you could buy an entire island from the proceeds of the sale....

lol, i am thinking of doing that next april.
so definitely need the rat(s) to be gone before listing the property
i am indeed thinking of spending 7 months a year in asia
mostly china and a month or so in japan.
not fiji though as the weather does not agree with me.
there are cruises in sept from north america to japan and in april for japan to north america

left over food works too! Stronger scent

So true! One of our most beloved cats ever, Vladdie, was drawn to us by our bbq, when he was about 3 months old. We gave him a plate, he feasted like a king, and never looked back. We had another cat, Lillie, who loved taco meat. And PJ was my broccoli/cheese soup eating partner. :)

Waldo, maybe all of our cats were strange, but we never had a single one, domestic or wild, who paid the least bit of attention to catnip. lol. I even grew it in one of my herb gardens, hoping they would like it in a more natural state, but nope. That always left me scratching my head. lol.

do you know whether cats go into a state of delirium after catnip?
my worry is that they go into bliss and do not go after the rat(s)

i cannot decide whether i used catnip and catfood/fish or JUST catfood/fish

the comment about feasting on taco made me feel sad :lmao:

I have heard that they can get a little crazy with it, and that it's lots of fun to watch. But I don't think they would replace it with food. Unless you just had a real addict on your hands.
