Remember when we wanted this guy?

Remember when it was because he could run 30 yard slants?

You're right that was funny.

I missed the part where Edwards is setting the league on fire.

Braylon Edwards:
32 catches
512 yards
3 TDs

Mike Williams:
29 catches
350 yards
1 TDs

Edwards had more catches, more yards, more TDs, and more YPC than Williams in an offense with far less weapons that Detroits.

And Edwards missed time when he blew out his knee.

This justifies the crowing and chest thumping? And you don't want to be compared to Nors?

The difference: These are facts, not opinions. By those stats, it is not debateable who had the better rookie year, and you know it.

And Edwards started seven games to Williams' four.

My debate was based on who would have a better career and you know it.

So thump away. You must like things that sound hollow.

Well I liked him in College and at THAT time would not have been upset if he fell to us and we took him.

But I am glad he did not and we did not now.

I am sure everyone has players they thought would do great or at least good in the pros only to see them flop.

Same could be said that many probably thought some guy in the draft would be a dud and turn out to be a great or at least good pro.

I think the signs were there before he was drafted that kinda gave us a look into the problem now, how he was getting bigger

So? Edwards only played in 10 games, Williams played in 14

You do realize that a starting WR is going to get more opportunities than a third string WR, right?

You are comparing two players that had different roles, yet want to claim "calling" something when the two situations are totally different.

Williams didn't have a better year than Edwards and maybe I missed who said he did. But the point of comparison is between two entirely different cases.

If comparing a third string and a first string and saying the first string had a better year is your idea of being right, then you are demanding credit for hitting an easy layup.

And how long has each of their careers been? How many seasons do we have to base their careers off so far?

As of right now, Edwards has had the better career. End of discussion

I wasn't that high on Williams as a draft pick for us last year, but the guy is only going into his 2nd season. While he may be experiencing some issues right now, I'd say it's still early to label the guy a "bust" already. If this were year 4 or 5, then that would be a different story.

I know it is quite tempting to simply write Williams off...being a Millen first round draft pick and all. :)

(Oh...Braylon Edwards hasn't done squat either)

Yes, however a guy who plays in 14 games gets more opportunities than a guy who only plays in 10 games. At best, it simply evens out. Had both played all 16 games, yes, you would have a legit point. However, they did not.

Williams = work ethic????????
Williams attitude that can be adjusted, but if the work ethic is bad that's a much stiffer change IMO.

Their careers are just beginning. Both of them. Bring this up again when their careers are over and if Edwards has had a better career I will give you credit. Right now, Nors Lite, all you are doing is an impression of King Kong, only you're trying to make me think the dog house you're standing on is the Empire State Building.

My response, whoop dee freaking doo.

HH, it's quite obvious to me that the real point of your thread is to indirectly insinuate that Hos was wrong about Mike Williams. Right?

Come on now, be honest.
You read between the lines very well. Ask him to tell you about 30 yard slants which was a HUGE part of his rationale for Edwards over Williams. Most impressive education I ever got [/sarcasm off]

Calling Mike Williams a bust off one season is premature.
Much like calling Ware a star based off his good rookie year.

Why even argue this point? Its only been ONE YEAR.
