Everyone clamoring to keep him and not give him up for nothing are the same ones who felt that team chemistry was so important so Romo shouldn't get his job back once healthy last season. If the team chemistry thing is real, then you don't want to have a disgruntled Romo hanging around this off season or season.

And when exactly was this after action report finalized?

The reports are that Jerry talked with Tony this week and I'm quite sure they both are on top of the situation.
They are like Father and Son don't you know. Jerry has plans for Tony after his playing days that's for sure.

I just love it how Jerry Jones gave up a 3rd rounder for James McKnight, and we can't get squat for Tony Romo.

Oh, tell Houston to just sit on it as they did back in the days of Earl Campbell and Bum Phillips...and why they really aren't a serious contender without Tony Romo. They now have an extra 2nd round pick...get serious, or sit on it.

Houston GAVE UP a 2nd round pick. They didn't get an extra one for Brock.

Isn't it quite obvious that Jerry made a call yesterday to a reporter and tried to stir up some media generated interest. Lots of media
this morning think they were duped yesterday afternoon. Tony's message stated that he's good as gone but, no reference to where
he might go. Today is a new day and maybe things will clear up this afternoon.

I think its more likely that Jerry got wind of the trade Houston was making and decided to hold Romo in hopes Houston would feel pressure to make sure they get Romo and not have to compete on the open market for him. It was a smart move but will only work if he sees it through. A few days isn't enough time. Make them sweat a while and they will deal or another team will jump in. Once that happens, every team with even the slightest interest will call.

I just love the idea that Jerry and Co. were ready to cut him, without having done much to actually attempt a trade, then all this news of guys moving comes in and suddenly we're scrambling to see if we can get the dregs of what's left.

It likely didn't play out that way, but it sure seems like it.

Jerry may for a few days but, he will also work with Tony to get his new team soon. That's the way Jerry rolls and he's the owner
and can do anything he wants. You know that.

The question I have is, when does Tony actually get released if there truly are no trade partners? When will the cutoff be on trying to trade him?

We can't get squat because no team is offering squat. Jerry can't make teams make an offer for Tony.

...Let me see if I've got this straight: The Texans dumped disappointing Brock Osweiler and his King Kong contract on the Browns, who reportedly have no intentions of making him their latest quarterback mistake but did the Cowboys a solid by creating a trade market for Tony Romo.

And maybe helping the Cowboys' defense, leaking all over the league, in the process.

Bottom line: If they can get a draft pick or two out of this NBA-style stunner instead of just releasing Romo to clear some cap space, it could help make up for bad news otherwise...

I'm reading everything you are. They have also said they are not offering picks for Tony just like Denver. I suspect they are keeping their powder dry for the day Tony becomes available and then Houston, Denver & maybe Jacksonville will drop their pants and check for size. All the teams
know the score as this has been discussed for months.

Oh, and I've been hearing the continual and insulting storylines that always implies that Dallas fans are ignorant as are the whole organization...you betcha.
