We could have given a 2nd *and* another lower pick, instead of offering a 1st. A 1st is over double the value of a 2nd. You don't need to overbid by doubling. And you aren't required to overbid *at all*. If it's a bad deal, don't do it.

"We got it done." You can always buy stuff if you're willing to pay too much. That's not an accomplishment to be proud of.
 
Voting "no" on this one just because of the cost. I think Cooper is a good player, but 1st round picks are invaluable. Aside from Dallas having found some good players in the 1st round over the past 6-7 drafts, the contract difference is monumental. Cooper will need a new contract and even if Dallas just holds him for a year, that single year will cost more than LVE's entire contract.

If it were a 2nd rounder, I'd vote "yes". 1st rounders are too valuable.

Hell yeah I do, Cooper is better than advertised and his impact for the entire offense is massive. We got a 24 year old stud who runs good routes and is lightning quick. Defenses know it and are forced to account for him. He makes Dak, Zeke, and everyone else better.
 
Still a bad move. Problem is we don't have a QB who can get him the ball. Same problem we had with Dez here with Romo gone. That in itself validates it was a bad trade.

I don’t care.

A first rounder is not worth the decoy effect.

Dez was getting slammed around here for the exact same thing and Cooper has provided nothing special to the offense so far.

I like Cooper a lot too. But with Dak he’s a waste.

I never support trading for a receiver during the season but it's too early to judge this trade, if the Cowboys make the playoffs, then it was worth it, if they don't it was not because Dallas traded for Cooper to help get them into the playoffs!
 
Yes, the addition of Amari, along with the change in offensive coaching, has brought life to the offense, but the QB still has to get Amari the ball in order for the trade to be worth the pick. He is a receiver. He can run routes and has shown that he is not afraid to catch the ball. The Cowboys have to utilize Amari's skill set along with his presence.
 
I think people WANT it to be true that AC is having a huge impact on the offense, but I think the jury is very much still out on that. They played one good defense (got shut down), and two bad defenses (one good 410 yard outing and one disappointing 320 yard outing). Is Cooper helping? Well he’s a step up from what was there so sure he’s having some positive impact. But I think the OL play independent of everything else has been the biggest change. As some have already said, so far AC has more or less been what Dez was in ‘17 as far as production and the kind of attention he gets. That is not first round pick worthy production. Do I blame AC for that? No, but at the end of the day Dak is going to be the one that makes or breaks this move. AC had a ton of 1 on 1 coverage Sunday and for whatever reason Dak was afraid to go after Trufant who has been horrible this year. That kind of thing is what will prevent this from being the “right” move. They should have lit up the Falcons. Go look at where 320 total yards puts you on the total offense list. That’s not a successful offensive day. It’s a win yes, but it’s 2/3 disappointing offensive performances since AC arrived.
 
Thought it was a bad move at the time, but it seems to be working out (2-1) so far.

Gonna wait and see how this season plays out, and what happens in next year’s draft, before I totally embrace the move.

Like what I’m seeing, though, as AC’s acquisition appears to be helping the entire offense.
