RG III vs Johnny

The Cowboys should draft a quarterback to groom behind Romo. Neither Griffin or Manziel should be signed. If we sign either of them all we do is delay finding a legitimate replacement for Romo when he is finished. Neither of these players has proven that they have a future as an NFL starter. It would be a terrible move by Jerry and Steven.

i would put romo humble but confident. there's a difference to me here. romo helps people when their car breaks down. i've never heard him put himself ahead of the team. he does have a sense of humility that to me is critical in leadership.
I think this is a perfect description of Romo. The nature of the QB position, especially in Dallas, requires a certain amount of confidence. Haters are always going to turn that in saying "he's too cocky and arrogant."

Ft Worth police confirm to @CBSNews Johnny Manziel had "altercation" w/ gf. He wasn't arrested @CBSSports

"Police were called to investigate an incident involving Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel in Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend.

Fort Worth police said in a statement Saturday that an incident report was being compiled "regarding an altercation between Manziel and his girlfriend." Police said Manziel was not arrested. Additional details were not immediately available."

Manziel will never learn.

Gotta go with JF. At best he finally "gets it" and we have a future after Romo. At worst he destroys the team completely and JJ is forced to be I g Parcells out of retirement.

=D

If Johnny just didn't have the circus that followed i'd go with him but I think you have to go with RG3 between the 2.

Why do some people not like the circus? The Cowboys have always been a circus and a soap opera. It's one reason why the Cowboys are the most popular team.

The flip side of Manziel's "circus" is star power.

I agree, but Romo or Staubach are not the norm. Maybe if Romo wins the big one guys like that become the standard. Right now guys like Brady are.

Looking at the police report, I think the Johnny Football dream just ended. We'll see when more facts come out.

Just sign RG3 so we don't have to have any of this Manziel talk.

I.ll go to my grave never believing Jerry ever wanted Manziel. I think he was just being nice. I'm sure Jerry knows Manziels dad or grandad through the oil business

No he doesn't. The kid still hasn't figured out the simple premise business before pleasure. His playing style is incredibly reckless just like Romo when he entered the league. The difference? Romo was far more mature than he was and it still took Romo years to get that under control. Manziel isn't even remotely mature and he needs that before he can work on his complete and utter recklessness so he can be an effective QB. When will he become a quality started QB? When he is 38?

Yeah, no. I'll pass.

Anyone has a chance to change. The problem is the person needs to realize they need to change. That's the issue I have with little Johnny is he doesn't seem to get the fact he has to change

I want to consider RGIII simply because it would drive Skins fans crazy if he had any success here.

There was an article/ interview w Steve Young, where several coaches told him that RG3 was lazy in his film study and preparation and he often would disregard his qb coach when they where trying to work with him on his fundamentals. Furthermore, there where locker room issues where he and Cousins couldn't even be in the same room with each other, several o linemen did t like RG3 and wouldn't help him up after being sacked, his father was very intrusive and went into the players locker room, ect...

JF is also drama. It's hard to choose between these two, I'd rather pick up McCoy, hasseback, Stanton, Schaub, ect.
