Rush listed as the backup QB, Lance is 3

While I agree with you I wonder was it the drugs or what with Quincy. Or if he simply couldn’t play. He robbed himself of another year with this coaching staff.
Quincy was an average QB at best...somewhere between 15-25. Definitely not worth the reach for his draft position.

Ah, the mythical year 4 mantra. Which is not a true 4 years of actual on the field experience.
But hey you all need that as part of your narrative to make it more legit. Which is far from it.
Instead of fantasizing about Trances potential, can people just see where he is at after 4 years in the NFL, compared to what he was coming out of college.

In 4 years he has not improved, why do people believe he will ever reach his potential.

Zach Wilson is better than Trey Lance and that IS NOT a compliment....he didn't even get close to replacing Rush.
I knew when Rush wasn’t playing in the 4th quarter I knew Lance wasn’t the backup. They didn’t play Rush because they didn’t want to risk injury. They played Lance and didn’t care if he got hurt.

As expected. Cooper fills in if Dak can't go for a week or two. Anything long-term, esp if they're out of the hunt, I'd imagine we'll see a healthy dose of Lance.....although I would be curious to see how far Cooper could take us, given the opportunity.

What about year 8, going into 9?
Well he is top 5-10 in almost every statistical category...3rd in most wins behind Mahomes by 1 game and Brady by 6. And yes he has had 3 really terrible playoff games. But that is maybe 1 or 2 more than other QBs like Burrows and Allen...

Rush has already proven he can run and operate the offense if Dak is out. Everyone knew that Lance needed all the time he could get and it was clear he did. He needs a lot more.

He had a lot of setbacks including Bruce Coslet not liking him. I don’t disagree I just wonder how good he could’ve been with a more stable foundation.

Yeah but teams don’t sit backups for a whole game. Rush isn’t good enough to rest. Some yeahs play their backup to see how good receivers are.

Dude, what's wrong with you? Their goal for pre-season was 100% to give Lance all the experience he could get. They know what they have in Rush already.

Rush is not good enough to rest and Trance is QB3, so what does that say about Trance?

What’s wrong with you? The goal was to replace Rush with Lance. You think they traded for Lance to be the 3rd stringer? The backup to the backup?

The team knows what Rush is already, he's started games and is an obvious viable backup QB for the Cowboys system. Lance was an unknown so they wanted to give him all the reps they could in pre-season. Smart decision even though Lance crapped the bed...badly...

After all the camp evidence you think their "goal" was that he'd be better than Rush? LOL!! More like HOPE he'd be a gamer because there was nothing but horrid reports on Lance during camp.

Lance was Dak-cope. You know that I don't think Dak is worth the money but I also wasn't counting on Lance to be the savior. I had to see it and what I saw was scary. Reminded me of the Quincy Carter horror's.
There’s still some fans despite the training camp and preseason he had that are trying to convince themselves he is the savior. They’re still arguing that he hasn’t had enough reps. He’s had more than enough reps to look better than he has but some continue to hold out hope. When a QB has it, you start seeing some flashes early.

Meh, like I said. "Dak"-Cope. If Lance looked like a beast, I'd be more onboard but he just didn't. I am a person who requires evidence just like I have evidence that Dak will never get us beyond what he has already... Same thing. Now with no viable option outside of the draft I have a more difficult time just accepting a change.

What's the plan? If they plan to draft someone instead of paying Dak or bring in a much cheaper stop-gap + draft, I can get behind that but Lance isn't a real option to me.
