***Safety Taylor dead at 24***

I've been reading what everyone has been saying today, wondering what I could add that has not already been said.

As rivals in the sportsworld, we know our division opponents players almost as well as our own.

On those sundays when he was our opponenet, we would curse every good play he would make. But deep inside, we knew he was good and respected him.

Off the field, he made the same mistakes alot of us made in our early 20's. But I believe the birth of his child may have changed Sean Taylor the man. He knew it was time to grow up, for his child.

Today Commander fans, we do not lay forth our sword in battle, we put forth our hand in friendship and mourning.

Today, the real world has crept into our sportsworld.

We will always remember #21

Sean and his family are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless you Sean! I'll get an autograph from you when I get there buddy.

I do not know what I can say that has not already been said, however my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the late Sean Taylor. I went to bad last night praying for his return to health, so that he could return and make our lives terrible on sundays like he did last year on the blocked kick return. Again my prayers belong to his family and friends.

This sucks.

And no, not because its Sean Taylor. But because a human being was murdered. And a little girl never gets to see her dad again.

The football part is irrelevant. A man lost his life; a daughter her father.

i would just like to say thank you for all support you guys have given the Commanders family. You guys brought tears to my eyes when I saw that you changed your colors to B&G to honor him...that is really classy and I am proud to have you as our biggest rival!

This is sinister and perverse and supersedes the Commander organization, there is going to be a hollow and despair filled sense in that locker room and with his heart wrenched family.

Truly awful, I pray they take heart that in this fallen world we are never truly quite yet home and that divine justice awaits the outcome of this act how ever it occurred.

Pray for the comfort and well being of the family as they are a house in deep grief and just mourning, let them look with joy to Taylor's Redeemer and with the glorious hope they will one day be reunited as death itself will one day face it's own sting and be put to death never to curse us again.

i heard the news in the morning on mike and mike. i was so shocked and man my thoughts and prayers are with Taylor and his family. i cant say that i liked teh guy because of the some stuff that he has done but still i dont think he deserved wat happened to him! this is sad day for the NFL and i hope the culprit is caught n gets what he deserves!

R.I.P Sean Taylor...

God help us all. What a tragedy. I pray God will shine on his family and loved ones.

Terrible loss. Only 24, too. I have to say that I never really liked him as a player (he was a Commander after all), but looking at it now, you can't help but admire his passion and energy.

So sad, too, that this happened so soon after he started growing up and really harnessing his talent. What could have been...

The Commanders my space group has mentioned how the Cowboyszone changed the layout to pay respects to Sean Taylor. They are really impressed.

As much as I hate the Commanders, this nearly brought me to tears. A young up and coming star Safety, brutally murdered for what? This world can be a horrible place to live sometimes... R.I.P.

I wish I could believe like you and others in after life and god...

You can, any time you want to believe. Just ask.

God Bless and keep Sean Taylor. As a rival, he is feared. As a football player, he was admired. As a man, he was taken too young.

No one really knows why things happend the way that they do, you just gotta believe it is the way He wanted.

I echo these sentiments. It's an amazing gesture.

Lifelong Skins fan here, and I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for honoring Sean in this way. Such a very classy and kind thing to do. I was pretty much numb all day, but when I saw what you guys had done here I lost it. Thanks again.

There really are no words to express how sorry I am for his family and the Commanders family. The first thing I did this morning was turn the TV to ESPNNews and I slumped into my chair at the news still in disbelief. Reading about how he had turned the corner and really became a mature father and teammate was just heartwrenching to read. I pray God surrounds them all with Heaven's finest Angels in the days to come.

As with others, I also want to give a quick "thank you" to everyone here for the support and compassion. This has been one very sad and surreal day for us Skins fans, and it's not going to be over anytime soon...it's hard to explain. But it's amazing how comforting it is to see words of support and understanding coming from fans from all over the NFL...and especially from those who are your biggest rivals. It's sincerely appreciated.

I was thinking earlier how many have expressed how things will get better. While I do agree that time will heal wounds, just think - every time we play the Commanders, we will think of Sean Taylor. In the offseason when the Commanders look for a replacement at safety, we will think of Sean Taylor. Years from now when we look back on their team, we will think, "if only they still had Sean Taylor, how things could have been different."

It's devestating to lose anyone that young, a teammate, a player you follow and cheer for and respect, but man, I can't imagine what it must feel like to be a Commanders fan at this time. It will heal somewhat, but never really leave. What it we had lost a DeMarcus Ware, or Jason Witten, or Romo? A young leader of the team, not yet even in his prime. Taylor hadn't even peaked, yet. Ugh. I'm still in disbelief over this.

Such a cruel, cruel day. Our hearts are with you.
