Here you go:

And yet, once regular season came around, that article became meaningless - now chief, show me where he's "bombed out" with a more up to date article.

He hasn't JUST been playing the outside, but also inside as well. Also giving more of a role of getting people set in place and commanding.

I'll wait for your in-season article you can pull for me. :)

He "bombed out" at MLB. That's just a fact. They tried him as a 3 down MLB and he couldn't handle it............ he was struggling at getting off blocks, was misdiagnosing plays, and overrunning plays. He only plays in the middle on passing downs when they are in the nickel defense.

And the article didn't become meaningless once the season started. Because he hasn't been moved back to MLB as the full time starter. He plays outside a majority of the time because that best suits his skill set and keeps him out of the clogged middle where he struggled.

You know, the position they'd probably try to play him at here if we had drafted him.

Shoot, if we could redo that draft, I might take Michael Thomas in the 2nd round over any of the defensive players available.

More exaggeration on "bombed out" - first off, he hasn't been completely removed from the MLB position. Actually, he's started there in a few games. And again, this guy who "bombed out" is still getting the reigns and allowed to command others on the defense.

And again, I never argued he should be strictly a MLB - I don't care what they initially drafted him for, but he is still progressing. Everything you claimed the coaches, Paul, everyone has said something different on - give me a quote from the coaches and players that backs up your claims.

Paul is a good player, a veteran - no **** he's still going to be the MLB. He's a good player. Who wouldn't want a good veteran player as their MLB? You stated he "bombed out" - but you aren't giving me quotes that indicate this FROM coaches any time recently.

YOUR WORDS were "bombed out" - followed by exaggerations like he was absolutely awful, though, again, this has been opposite of true with how coaches and players have spoke about him.

The point is: Jack is a far better player than Smith. We chose the wrong LB.

This to finish off the discussion. Nothing else to be said - Jack >>>>> Smith. Smith is a bum with a bad knee and no brains.

You are playing the word twisting game.

I said he bombed out at MLB. And he did. They had to move him from starting MLB to SAM because he was pretty awful. He only now plays in the "middle" in their nickel defense. The plan was Poz would be the SAM and Jack would be the MIKE. Jack was pretty bad in camp and through two preseason games, so they had to flip them. He's better at SAM, I never said he wasn't.

The overriding point here is that they drafted Smith to be a MLB and likely would have done the same with Jack. Jack isn't a starting MLB in this league, neither is Smith. They are outside players. So I don't see not taking Jack as some whiff. Taking Smith is looking like a boneheaded pick but not picking Jack isn't a whiff IMO.

So out of all these picks we've had...over 60.....you can only bring up 5? Hahahahahahshhaa.......

You really want to keep going draft by draft and get into detail from rounds 1-7? I just grabbed the last few drafts at the very top. There is a reason why we have zero depth.

Quit because purposely obtuse.

Jaylon Smith might be the worst football player I’ve ever seen in the NFL.

I was laughing so hard at the bar when that happened.

One of the, if the not the, worst plays I've ever seen a player make on defense.

It's worse than Jenkins "Stop and let the guy get in the end zone" play back in the 2010 game against the Packers.

My favorite Smith play is when the ball carrier is already being tackled or on the ground, and he flops on the pile.

He also claps a lot. Probably handing around Garrett too much.

Those 2nd round picks have been killing us. Gregory the weed head, No show Escabor, Smith being detrimental when on the field, bum hammy Chetto, The first AND SECOND used for no MO Claibone. Also do you guys recall Bruce Carter? Our second round picks are litter with bust. Even Lee is a catch 22.

My dream is they hire a real DC and he moves Jones back to CB. He wouldn't be great there but he's a better CB than S.

Taco: waaay too early to make pronouncements on him as a player

Jaylon: Still rooting for him and hope his recovery will put him near 100%. That said, he’s looked overwhelmingly awful in the majority of snaps he’s played. He’s simply not moving the way he used too.

Byron Jones: I’ve done a 180 on this kid as a former supporter; I’ve seen him too often this year duck out of the physical aspects of the game and doesn’t show the feel/anticipation needed for the position. I still think he has utility playing man in coverage packages but he’ll always be late to react player when you put him in space and ask him to cover a portion of the field.

Yeah, I knew apples to apples comparisons weren't your thing.

Go Potbangers!
Look, Homer

Nowhere in this thread was I comparing Dak to a second year Aaron Rodgers. If you can find that post, let me know. You cant though.

I am talking at this stage in each of their career’s. Dak is not on the Aaron Rodgers level or anywhere near it. I know that hurts your feelings, but oh well, get over it.
