The problem with this coaching staff is that Marinelli is the only guy who has the ability to coach anyone up to get more out of them. The rest of the staff, including the HC, only do okay when they have superstars. Most coaches look good when they have superstars but the good ones can coach someone up to get more out of them.

sorry, disagree. the defense has collapsed monumentally over the past three games.

My rule would be no starters, or valuable assets on offense or defense will return kicks or punts.
lucky should have been active , or use someone else.
Or on KO just down it in end zone always, they never get good returns or one all the way, and on punts fair catch it.
they could use street or I am sure they have other players who dont do much on offense or defense.

Also dunbar was 8 yards deep and ran it out which to me should be a no no.
Jimmy Johnson said last year, he would not let his players return kickoffs, due to more bad can happen than good, just take it at the 20.

so who would you have return the ball? please set up the game day roster. who would be active. who would be inactive. you are complaining but haven't provided an alternative. without providing an alternative, the decision made was the right one.

our success last year was predicated on giving Jason less control. It is the same Jason that kept interfering with Callahan, because Callahan most probably was drifting away from Garrett's trash playbook.

Callahan bounced.. What is showing in DC with a Gruden already shoes the stamp that was on Dallas last year and Dallas and Philly are both not looking good, the former quite different with the play of the OL..

If that isn't indicative of who to give a majority of the credit to for the running game and OL in Dallas, what is?

The Commanders have no Romo not Dez either..

is this the same Callahan who was given the offensive control two years ago, only to see the offense regress so badly that garrett had to insert him self in the process and all of a sudden the offense picked up. the same Callahan who was criticized for his offensive play calling by multiple NFL analysts. Callahan is a good OL coach. the OL is missing him. that's it. is he a key member of the coaching staff? as long as you say OL, then yes.

what is the alternative? I want this, we should do that...provide the alternative.... play to win? how? with Weeden? how? stop *****ing because it makes you look like a PMSing little girl and provide some insight into the how....otherwise move on

What's the alternative? How about quit doing things like, I don't know, throw to Williams 3 times in a row when Breaux was completely shutting him down? Hey it didn't work twice, let's keep lining him up with him. Screw creating a mismatch! Or how about quit running on every 1st down? Or maybe create misdirection, have designed rollouts, or just attempt creating any sort of confusion? All I saw was handing the RB the ball and running straight. But I'm just a poster here, what do I know?

Garrett sucked last year as well.

Just because the Oline can impose their will on people didn't mean he was a good coach.

Just because Romo and Dez are 2 of the best players in the league doesn't mean we've designed an offense that is the most efficient for using their talent.

so the OL imposing his will is a bad thing. can't we make the same excuse for any other coach? if the DL can't impose his will they are not good. if the QB can't make the plays, the coach is toast, if the RB doesn't run like he does, the coach sucks.... the OL and their play is part of the team and part of the game. you can't say anything good doesn't count and I only want to pick the parts that I don't like.

take away Brady and Gronk? what does NE have?
Take Away Rodgers..? what does GB have?
Take Away Ryan, Jones? what does Atlanta have?

every team in the NFL needs talent to win. specially at QB. its a QB driven league.

He was using Garrett's playbook? He was stuck within the confines of a stupid archaic offense. Callahan might have been calling the plays, but it certainly wasn't his offense.

ok, last week everyone criticized we don't throw to WR. this week is why are we throwing to WRs. we were down to 3 WRs, one of who is only a slot WR and the otherone really sucks. Escobar doesn't cut it, dunbar got hurt and so you are down to Williams & Witten as your primary recievers. who do you throw to? Witten who is doubled and has a man over the top? or Williams who is singled with one DB?

how do you create a mismatch when you don't have the personnel to do it?

btw, we had designed roll outs.. the problem with roll outs is that you limit yourself to half the field and if defense floods the lanes, there is nowhere to throw. we tried and only had success a couple of times for short gains.

how do you create confusion with limited talent.....

we all knew our RBs are limited and they will complement the passing game. but now, the passing game is suffering and the running game is suffering as a result.

the fact is weeden sucks. he is limited. graphics showed he throws to the middle and right 95% of the time. and at that he throws 0-15 yards 90% of the time. you don't think defensive coordinators know that? how many times did we see the announcers say why isn't weeden stepping up into the pocket and instead kept going backwards and falling on his arse.

there isn't one team in this league who wins without talent and win consistently and without top 5 talent. this ain't college ball son

so somehow the same archaic playbook started to work!!! when Callahan stopped calling the offense. same archaic playbook worked last year. and in the first two games (prior to room's injury) this year.

come on dude....

Ive said in JG threads before...if he won the superbowl, Id want him fired that night. Winning it wouldnt be because of him. It would be a Barry Switzer type deal, we won inspite of him.

This...

Garrett is putting his vanilla philosophies on fully display.

We look like a middle school team.

There are so many ways to keep an offense safe and conservative but still spread the ball around and keep the defense on their heels.

Dallas goes out there outmanned and just calls a game like we're just going to line up and beat people.

well, hasn't Brady single handedly make billichicks career? same with Rodgers & Favre in GB making coaches careers. same with Rothlisberger making Tomlin's career. its funny how when star QBs go down, the teams don't perform as well...hmmm, not sure why...

so how do you run a non vanilla complex offense with Weeden and Williams as your star duo? add to it a limited Randle.. devise a complex game plan for me son!!!!

Exactly he has ridden romo's coat tails.
But regardless he is our coach for the next 5 years, maybe longer.
Also I was thinking the other day that if jerry got rid of JG, he would not hire the coach you may want, he would just hire some other loser.
So might as well stick with JG.
Just look who Jerry hired in the past! switzer, chan, campo, too old parcells, wade, then JG.

I like to complain about JG but he may be the best we will get.
It may be time to hire another HC to help him out on some things though.

see ,my other posts. hasn't billicheck run the coat tail of Brady? he won nothing without him and the one year he got injured he missed the playoffs.

you can't tell me you take Rodgers out of GB and they are the same team!!!!

We took Aikman away and cowboys collapsed mightly.... and garrett hadn't do anything with that....

Giants just handed Eli a huge extension? why its all about the QB

Rothlisberger has been Tomlinson's savior...he goes down and stellers struggle...oh my god Tomlinson sucks!!!

Why did it start to work you think? Not because of the running game right?

You need the offensive line playing like one of the most dominate in NFL history for the offense to work it seems. Fair enough, seems doable every season

Kind of hard to bash on the only healthy guy on the roster. I can tell by his sideline smirk, the injuries were all his idea.

Defense is wilting fast. They can't stop the dink and dunk passes for 6-7 yards a pop.

Who brought Weeden here? If Garrett didn't think Weeden can win, then move on. The team looked sloppy, gave up points and once again lost in historic fashion (fastest OT win) which is the hall mark for Garrett since he's been here.

Since when did Garrett do that when was in absolute control of the offense? He has no clue.. The running game that was successful, the OL that was all world last year and disciplined, it was a product of Callahan...

You should see how the Commanders are controlling TOP this year with their RG this year.

Hey we lost! Look who showed up!

I knew there was no way a coach of his caliber was going to win a 14th road game in a row. I hear Philbin is available.
