No more than Satan Moss is.

No, you have to go back to my original list. I listed certain players that I thought were nice guys. I used the word soft and some only saw the name ROY on the list. I was speaking of wilting under pressure. I never said mentally soft, but thats what I was talking about as well. But once they saw Roy, they freaked out. Roy is in my opinion a nice guy. I'm really on the verge of labeling him a Game Quitter. I listed my reason for this, but to answer your question, No TO is not a Game Quitter. In fact he is just the opposite.SkinsandTerps;1122684 said:So you think TO is a "game quitter" ?

This has nothing to do with that one play. I promise.CATCH17;1122691 said:Honestly was there any doubt somebody wasn't going to score there?
Manning was looking at our defense for about 8 seconds... Somebody was going to get open.
Im not making excuses for Roy but if you give any QB that much time expect bad things to happen.

I thought you were talking about the bomb to Burress. Its a lot of different things that come to mind, but no not the Shockey TD either. I actaully fault Zimm/BP for that Shockey TD. How many times do we have to see Shockey score one on one with Roy on him before we learn?CATCH17;1122696 said:What one play?
The one where Manning set there all day and finally a guy got open and it was Shockey?
Smart guy, between me and you. Do a search about my game notes from the Dallas/ NO pre-season game. Notice in that thread how I actually talked to some of the same guys you mentioned in the locker room after the game. Its not that hard for me to get that close. to them if I want to. Again, even your last post shows me you have no idea of what this thread is really about. Do your research son. Move on.DABOYZ;1122698 said:Hey, halfy you there? I'm not the one calling out the "nice guys on the team. I believe this team needed a spark. They will get this spark from a younger more confident QB. If you think this team has a bunch of nice guys on the team hard*$$. Then why don't you challenge them. Walk right up to Dware, Roy, TO, or heck even Vanderjunk, and kick them right square in the pills. I know getting close to them might be tough, right? Well they normally hang out the Marriot in Dallas. Goodluck!
I guess after this Sunday your "gig" will be up. The question is will you have the nads to show your sig around here!!!!!!50cent;1122700 said:Smart guy, between me and you. This is funny. My mind or opinion is supposed to change after one game. I think not. My opinion wasn't based on one game, so it won't change after one game. Especially after a game in which we should have the Psychological advantage in. This is a mental as well as physical thing, smart guy.DABOYZ;1122703 said:I guess after this Sunday your "gig" will be up. The question is will you have the nads to show your sig around here!!!!!!

50cent;1122566 said:What has him troubled — what has him waking up choking on his bile — isn’t what you might expect. It’s not concern that the Commanders’ coaching staff could spring something on the Cowboys for which they are entirely unprepared. And it’s not his team’s raw ability. It’s a thing that’s harder to put into words, and impervious to strategy. Even as he is trying to study his next opponent, he can’t shake what happened on Sunday. How his team, the moment the Jaguars pushed back, collapsed. How, the moment the players felt the pressure, they began to commit penalties and the sort of small but critical mental errors that only a coach watching video can perceive. In their performance he smells the sort of failure he defines himself against.
At the back of Parcells’s personal binder there are a few loose, well-thumbed sheets that defy categorization: a copy of a speech by Douglas MacArthur; a passage from a book about coaches, which argues that a coach excels by purifying his particular vision rather than emulating a type. Among the papers is an anecdote Parcells brings up often in conversation, about a boxing match that took place nearly 30 years ago between the middleweights Vito Antuofermo and Cyclone Hart. Parcells loves boxing; his idea of a perfect day in the off-season is to spend it inside some ratty boxing gym in North Jersey. “It’s a laboratory,” he says. “You get a real feel for human behavior under the strongest duress — under the threat of physical harm.” In this laboratory he has identified a phenomenon he calls the game quitter. Game quitters, he says, seem “as if they are trying to win, but really they’ve given up. They’ve just chosen a way out that’s not apparent to the naked eye. They are more concerned with public opinion than the end result.”
This is an exerpt from the NY Times story posted about BP.. I recently started a thread that stated that I felt team thought we were soft. I had no evidence for that thought, but it was just a feeling a got. This exerpt explains my views about how we play against quality teams. It has nothing to do with wanting more thugs or trouble makers, but everything to do with having too many nice guys. Roy, Ware, Ellis, FLo, JJ, etc. They are all nice guys and are on the verge of being labeled the "Game Quitters", as well as others on this team! And this bothers the hell outta me.
I agree with you that Roy Williams isn't soft by no means, but for all the hype that is put on this guy,he is overrated.summerisfunner;1122629 said:I told you why already
yeah, go ahead
but using that little analogy, let's say we were in a discussion of bands, and I was to go into every thread proclaiming that the Beatles were the greatest band ever, and would start threads about it, wouldn't you say that I had an agenda? maybe what I'm accusing him of, and my example isn't the exact definition of an agenda, but in forum-speak, it's close enough
honestly I don't know what 50cent's motive is, all I know is that it's getting pretty annoying, and that he has no veritable proof that the whole of our team is soft, just bits and pieces, and some, calling Roy soft, don't even make sense
You should get over it,because Leonard clearly won that fight over Hagler. He won more rounds.tothewhipbill;1122675 said:this team lacks confidence in their ability. they need a spark to wake them from their apparent doldrums. i don't see the burning desire. i don't see the team making a commitment. they haven't sold out for each other. like when gurode got stepped on by henderson - at least one cowboy shoulda been ejected for retaliating. these guys are punching a clock - and that's all. it would be too Hollywood-scriptish if the new starting QB Romo were to supply that kinda spark... but d*** - i'm ready for a good ole fashioned feelgood ending to this almost decade-long general malaise my Cowboys have been in.
won't somebody step up and supply the kinda fire we used to get from players like Irvin, Norton, Emmitt, Kenny Gant, etc. ???!!!!
and coach Parcells... maybe it's time you tweaked it up a notch yourself. these are your guys from the coaches to the players. let 'er rip. 'cuz that staring-at-the-hole-in-the-roof thing didn't seem to motivate your team one iota.
somebody please step up and shake this team awake.
by the way... cool vito antuafermo(sp) ref, fiddy. hagler vs. antuafermo was a landmark for me. it drew my attention, back in the late 70's/early 80's, to weight classes other than heavy and welter. hagler was my favorite fighter of the 80's. i'm still not over the way he got jobbed in sugar-ray's "hometown" - las vegas (palmer park west!)...
