He was not "Horrid". He actually had quite a few good plays. He wasn't perfect, true, but there's a reason he's a guy fighting for a roster spot.

Yeah, it was hard to tell how effective Pellerin was, but he was hustling and seemed to be around the ball. Not that the two players can be compared, but the first thing I noticed about Sean Lee was he always seemed to be around the ball.

I did watch the game. He played well. There were several big runs behind him and he was solid in pass protection. Do you have anything to back up what you said other than, "He plays with no strength" or "He played on roller skates"? His performance speaks louder than your conjecture.

For what it's worth, the Dolphins have one of the worst DL's in the NFL. I'm glad to see progress on the OL, but I'm not getting too excited about them playing well against them.

And Arkin gets driven backwards way too often. Watch the game (if you recorded it). I already deleted mine or I'd go through and time stamp examples. Actually I wouldn't, my life isn't quite THAT pathetic (yet).

Got called away and the dang DVR didn't record but I saw some of the game. Loved Selvie. Let's see if he can do that in real games against the starters. Liked what I saw of Fred. All the RBs I saw played well although I didn't see blitz pickups I can remember. Hard to judge safety play when the CBs are not starters and/or rooks. I don't know who's supposed to be where.

That's what I noticed too, he seemed to be in position to make a play on a few balls (3 or 4 different times). He's just got to finish the play.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. The one play where I did see him noticeably get driven back, (it ended up being a nice run for Tanner) he was able to leverage his man away from the hole and give Tanner more room. The only other play where I saw him get driven back was on the first drive where the run was to the other side.

I will agree that we shouldn't get too excited about the offensive line just yet, but I was pleasantly surprised about how well we ran the ball.

I'll have to disagree with you with Frederick and Arkin. I thought that while Frederick looked good at center, he looked pretty bad at guard and almost got Tanney killed. There were a couple good runs behind Arkin and he was solid in pass protection.

Guys that did impress me: ARKIN, Frederick, Leary- The interior of the oline looked better than it has in a long time. Arkin did get bull-rushed one time, but his pass protection was fine most of the time, and did well in the running game. (I would add Selvie and Wilcox to this list, but I only get three by the criteria and Oline has been our most pressing concern. Wilcox is a rookie and was out of position sometimes, but he was making a lot of tackles. More than any safety we've had since Woodson/Williams.)

Guys that did not impress me: Pellerin (didn't even know he was on the roster until tonight. Probably not fair to put him on this list.) Escobar has a long way to go on his blocking. Weems can't handle a speed rush. Playing on the left side, he has to be able to do that. That is where speed rushers come from. (with that said, I don't really expect him to be anything other than Practice Squad this year anyway. So, I really shouldn't put him on this list.) Hmmm, okay, scratch Weems and Pellerin off of that list.

Okay, the REAL did not impress me list:
Escobar. As previously stated.
Beasly. He is not a good kick returner or punt returner. Just a quick slot receiver who didn't excell at that tonight either.
Tanney. Made one exceptional throw to Green, but seemed to have trouble seeing the field and he fumbled the ball.

Glad we ran the ball well.

On the other hand, Miami's front 7 looked like a who's who of guys who will be working the drive through window at McDonalds in 2 years.

Arkin played really well. He routinely blocked his first assignment and then slid off and blocked another defender at the second level.

Good - Selvie - Incredible bull rush on Dallas Thomas. Great pressure all game.
Pendleton - Him and Selvie look like two potentially good rotation players at the ends.
Tanner and Randle - I know they don't count, but those helmetless YAC by Tanner really pump
me up.
Bad - Pellerin was the only true disappointment for me this early, and even he showed me something
with the coverage on the failed INT.
Im not looking forward to either three of the backup QBs getting any playing time in the regular season, though Tanney had that great throw to Green in double coverage.

1) Selvie - Wow, his name was being called all night. Solid pick up I think. If he keeps it up he makes the team and definitely gets in the rotation.
2) Tanner - showed a lot of tough running, if cuts were tonight, who do you choose? Tanner? Dunbar? Randle? All of them looked good, but I was impressed with Tanner but he got a bulk of the work.
3) Stephens - He looks like he has a NFL arm, he looked very comfortable out there, perhaps too comfortable. He needs to work on his pocket presence as he could have avoided the first sack easily.

Disappointed

1) Wilcox - This is more on me than him, I was hyped up expecting to see a guy bouncing around like a pin ball destroying everyone. I think my expectations were to high.
2) Johnson - Cut this guy already. The wind blows and he gets hurt. You can't trust a guy to be a starter or even a backup if he gets hurt every game/practice. I wonder if he is just not tough enough. He is far more injury prone than Bob Sanders.
3) Beasley - Not ready to cut him but he didn't do himself any favors. We have a good group of receivers here and you have to catch the ball and do something to stand out (ie Green and Armstrong). Right now I don't seem him making the team.

Alibi - I actually like #31. He seems like a PS guy. Maybe he just lacks confidence or had NFL Jitters, but the guy was in position to make the plays so its not a question of athletic ability or knowledge cause he was there (Other than the TD, but we have no clue of where he was supposed to line up). I like him, I think he is just really raw, stash him on the PS.

Alibi #2 - Can someone make me a GIF of Tanney saying Wow! LOL

I think the question was "three guys that disappointed".. so people see he got hurt and even though the only reason he didn't return was because it was a preseason game, they think he's injury prone so they poo poo about him.

Matt Johnson has been often injured ever since high school. Granted @ EWU he played through some of them in the games, he never practiced and never had a great work ethic. He always used injuries as an excuse not to practice...He's a lot of folks pet here so some are pretty defensive about him..I want an answer at safety as much as every other Cowboys fan, but we need to stop annoiting folks before they prove they can play without coming out..As Bill Parcells used to preach all the time, "You never know who's coming into that huddle, are you sure you want to come out of it?"

If it was the regular season he wouldn't even have come out of the game. Preseason, brah.. preseason.

Likes....Selvie, Fred, Leary....all did well and belong in everyones like column.

Dislikes....only thing here is safety play in general, only area I came away from the game more concerned about than I was before the game (and I was already concerned about it).

I couldn't watch the game closely tonight.

Did Free play much? How did he look?
