The NFL is light years from college ball. The things he did so easily in college will be far more difficult in the pros. I'll be surprised if he gets more than a handful of carries a game. BTW, many have called him a future "gadget back". His limitations are obvious. The playbook shrinks when he takes the field. The kid almost went undrafted, and might have if not for "family" ties. Was he worth a late 6th? Sure, but let's not kid ourselves. I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong at the end of the season.Vaughn is a gadget back? According to who? Certainly not anyone who knows him or anyone with the Cowboys. You don't lead college football in total yards being a gadget back.
Schultz is often ranked as one of the top 10 TE's in the league. I question whether a rookie, who is already missing time with an injury, can come in and be more productive than Schultz THIS season. Schoon has never taken a snap in the NFL.Schoon walked in a much better blocker. He is at least as good of a receiver.
Schultz's blocking improved dramatically over the years BTW. The bad blocker label was applied early, but folks need to re-evaluate. I would call him an average blocker now. Schultz's receiving statistics speak for themselves. Just let me know when Schoon achieves more.
