Wow...an adjustment to the game ball so it feels better.
This just in:
- No one cares that kickers use their own balls that don't meet the exact same specifications as the game balls
It's a different part of the game requiring different activities and was agreed upon by the rules committee and the players union. Apples vs. Oranges
- No one cares that Biletnikoff was covered in sticky goo while playing receiver.
It was legal at the time Biltenikoff was using it. It has since been made illegal.
- No one cares that teams steal signs in both baseball and football
Quite the contrary as in baseball if you get caught stealing signs, the pitcher will throw at your head the next time you're up. There's also been countless occasions where baseball brawls have started due to stealing signs. And I don't think Brooklyn Dodgers fans took to kindly to Bobby Thomson allegedly stealing signs when he hit is famous home run 'heard around the world.'
With football, SpyGate was bad enough. But the problem with trying to steal signs in football the 'ole fashioned way' is that it is nearly impossible to do without videotape. You might get a few right, but you're likely to get some wrong as well. And it's tough to prevent somebody from doing it the 'ole fashioned way.'
- No one cares that players cheat on plays throughout the game, holding, kicking, etc. because they know they'll get away with it more than it will be called
Holding somebody isn't 'cheating.' It's violating a rule. Often times without any attempt to do so because it's a split second activity. With SpyGate and DeflateGate, it required premeditated thought and execution that can take time over days, even years.
Anyone think that any coach in the NFL wouldn't take a playbook if they saw it sitting on a bench or look in one if another player handed it to them?
I don't think Don Shula would. He was notorious for despising cheating of any kind or form.
