That is all good and well but none of that happened. If Dez catches the pass, if the ball wasn't slick and if Romo didn't fumble the snap, none of this happened and it's all guessing. As of now, we are scoring what it takes to win. From Rush's history, how do we not know he scores more points to win if the points go up? A lot of these if's are being posted to discredit Rush. None of the if's has happened so if's mean nothing.

We’re scoring just enough points to get by. Every win we’ve had this season has come down to the final possession. We’ve had a lot of drives bog down and we’re very lucky Brett Maher has been consistent so far. Rush has done a solid job but you’re not going to get very far with a QB that’s on pace for 17 TD passes in a 17 game season and 3600 yards passing. With our inability to run the football consistently we’re going to end up in some serious trouble against better teams. Would you be satisfied with Rush as our full time starting QB?

Scoring is down the whole league-wide. They are not enough data to make a just decision on Rush.

Just to reinforce the OP's point:

I hope that Moore sticks with the greater emphasis on play-action after Dak gets back, but I'm afraid it'll be right back to 3 wides, sling it around the yard, Boise football.

Bingo.

I can tell who watched the video and who came in looking to reinforce their preconceived notions.

So if the Bengals beat the Ravens this week they will have a winning record, and they’re were a SB team last season.

So does that count as a quality team and a winning record. Or does the 0-1 records (a game they should have won) still count as beating a losing team. But are now 2-2.

If we beat the Rams with a 2-2 record, does that count as a losing record since they will be 2-3. Though they were not a losing team when we beat them. Nor a winning team.

I guess it depends on the narratives and agendas. This beating teams with winning or losing records goes for many if not all teams and QB’s.
Its too much thought process, but bottom line is just beat the team in front of you every week, this is a tough stretch the next 2 weeks.
Regardless Rams record, we take this game in a tough matchup on the road then this team is really learning how to play together, in all three phases of the game.
Mahr has been exceptional, but we need to start replacing some FGs with TDs and if not, this will be a very tough strectch.

Leaving the QB debate out of this… I have been preaching to play more under center for a long time. Play action is such a weapon and it is underutilized these days.

Dallas needs to use much more play action, regardless of who is at QB. I’m telling you it makes a huge difference to the defense. Playing DB, I hated play action. It makes everything more difficult, and the better your OL and your running backs are, the more difficult it becomes.
I agree, and haven't reviewed but would like to know how many times Rush was UC, would be interesting because he has been effective with the hard count as well.
Some play action would definitely loosen up a defense, but also takes a fraction of time more to develop and release.
Aikman used to kill it with Emmitt back in the day with play action and lead draws that developed off of that.

The zero points from game 1 skewed the stats. Take Daks abysmal game from the equation and the offense is top 15

So we went from the number 1 offense in 2021 with Dak and to average this season with Rush?

Cooper Rush has done a great job as a back up, but for some reason fans have this false perception that the offense is humming. Which obviously being a bottom 5 offense isn't the case.
No monster stats, but doing enough to stay in games, with a closing defense has been enough so far.
Offense needs to improve in redzone and start replacing FGs with TDs and when that improves, this team can play with any team in the league.

Good post, I agree if we can get more consistent in the red zone and avoid going through score droughts this offense would be more capable.

I’m not. I think Rush is doing a great job as the backup. You guys just don’t know what you’re talking about saying he should be the starter when Dsk gets back.
One thing is for sure, it's not up for the fans to decide, but interesting to debate, nonetheless.

I haven't been saying that.

I only feel that if we're winning, we should wait to reinsert Dak until after we lose rather than possibly disrupting the run, especially in either of these next two games when we're facing possibly two of our toughest opponents. For instance, we might lose to the Rams whether we started Rush or Dak, but if we lost in Dak's first start back, the optics would look worse since we've won our three games starting Rush. Better to wait until Rush loses to turn it back over to Dak. If for some reason we don't lose either of these next two games, we could put him back in against Detroit, But I'd be hesitant to remove a quarterback who has been part of five straight victories at that point. Eventually, the time will come to have Dak take back over and if it doesn't, that means we've won all of our games, which would be a good thing no matter who is at QB.

I look forward to seeing what the offense can do when Dak gets back, especially if the defense is still playing at this high level. I do have some concerns, though, that he hasn't looked that great since his calf injury last year. If he can get back to being the QB he was at the beginning of last year, we'll be tough to handle.
