that is usually a juicy oppurtunity for a back to get a big gainer. Since MB3 was the third down back, one can assume he got them. Next would be to see how much of his yardage was gotten on third and long. Then look at first downs and see when and where each back got carries there. Probably the best comparison and most fair. First and 10 is usually a running down unless you are behind in the second half. It was mentioned that JJ and MB3 got about the same number of 20 yd+ carries. BUT the question is which back got more oppurtunities at the coveted 3rd and long, or 2nd and long. that is gravy to RBs.

And for the record I don't think JJ was the only player that was being misused, contrary to they're strengths. Should I make a list of players that feel that Parcells' philosophy held the team back? All of you JJ haters are calling him average based on last year performance, factor in his entire NFL career.

Jones also doesn't have any baggage like McGahee. The Bills were basically forced to get rid of him lowering his value, Dallas is not in that situation. If the Bills want him they better offer something pretty enticing.
Julius Jones

I heard michael smith, say that maybe dallas would deal a running back because they have two.
This thread started because of michael smith pulling stuff out of thin air? Gimme a break. He never said jones either, he just said maybe dallas would trade a back.
It doensnt make any sense, he was shrugging his shoulders when he said this.
And again the only reason jones was almost traded last year was to acquire laurence maroney, once he was drafted there was no need to trade him.
and anyone who would trade him for a third is nuts. You picked him in the second, he is still on his original contract why in the world would you take a low value like that for him.
Why does he have to go? If we come across a player who can step right in and be a good back then you can maybe find a suitor for him, otherwise it is short sighted to think we dont need both backs.

newlander;1412522 said:just speculating he could. Michael Smith was giving an NFL report on sportcenter just now and said he could be shipped to Buffalo for a draft pick. One of the picks that they got for McGahee supposedly. I don't know.....we've all been disappointed with JJ to some extent, but he's always shown flashes and the O.Line has been pretty poor too.....my gut says to keep him one more year and he could bust out. Problem of course is he's a Unrestricted FA after this season. Tough call.![]()

Doomsday101;1412720 said:I think people expect more out of our starting RB. Barber comes in to the games in the second half and the offense seems to get a spark, we need that from Jones. He is suppose to be the break away RB yet he has 5 runs over 20 yards while Barber has 4 with half the carries. This has nothing to do with hate it has to do with production.
dwmyers;1415207 said:No back running as a starter for Bill Parcells has had a better YPC, unless his name was Joe Morris (or Julius Jones). His productivity was a full standard deviation better than the typical Parcells back.
