Good lord man you are making this way more difficult than it needs to be.It doesn't when you're talking about the amount of money a starter is going to make, it does matter in the development process, because it's obvious you're believed to have more issues than a guy who's drafted in the 1st, who's supposed to be more ready. Don't be naive
Once you get paid like a top 10 QB, which he will be, you better perform like a top 10 QB. NOBODY will care anymore about your draft status. NOBODY will make that excuse for you anymore, whether you're a 1st, 4th, 7th or undrafted rookie. When you enter the echelon of elite paychecks, you better live up to it.
If you think he's criticized now? Wait, JUST WAIT until he gets that big payday to see how much more intense the scrutiny will be. The only time you will hear his draft status mentioned going forward is going to be to say either:
1.) Wow the Cowboys really struck gold in the 4th round, if he succeeds
or
2.) What a colossal mistake it was for them to sign a flawed, 4th round project to such a huge deal, if he doesn't.
There will be no more "well, he's really good for a 4th rounder" nonsense.
