I know it's against the "law" to work this team out because of the rules.

From watching other teams, they are big and strong, not skinny and fast(cowboys).

The team is good, but weak(alway talking trash on a podcast)...the strength and conditions coaches....
(not feeding the team right) are not doing their jobs to help these tired crybabies.

Come on now! Once you get strong then your courage will reveal itself.

And instead of blowing smoke up my azz with your little pod casts...the team is weak...food wise and mental wise.

But a new generations of cry...I want money first!
But, I'm so tired. How embarrassing am I?

Don't know if it was the right choice, but the way some are reacting on here, you'd think we just added the worst DC in the history of the game instead of one who has had a lot of success in that role.
I view it opposite, Zimmer has never won a darn thing in all his years in the NFL. You will quickly tire of the 15 yard cushions and lack of interceptions. DBs are not allowed to play the ball under his defense.

I mean they just did it with Quinn and it turned out pretty good
I thought so, but many here were wanting quinn fired and glad he left ! lol
Quinn gave us a respectable defense, for the 1st time in decades. It wasnt the steel curtain, or like the old dallas defenses , but it was pretty good
against most teams, but did crumble once diggs and the LB got hurt ,and towards end of this season , when quinn may have found out he wasnt
going to be hc here and jerry was going to keep MM instead.

I really think Jones boys did something to piss quinn off, so no way was he coming back for 24, and I think he likes being in the east so he will
play dallas, and will go all out to beat dallas.

Next up: Norv Turner, Chan Gailey and Jason Garrett to interview for Co-Offensive Coordinator position.
Jerry has to be comfortable. Coaches that tell him how grateful they are for employment and how wonderful all of his ideas are make him the most comfortable.

The fact that he brought in a coach who has been out of coaching for 2 years and was literally on Tom Landry’s staff is beyond ridiculous.

Like every coach, Zimmer has weaknesses, but his defenses have often been good enough to get the job done.

From an MSN article:

The Vikings' defense was top-12 in points allowed in each of Zimmer's first six seasons with the team, including a top-five finish in 2015, '17, and '19. Zimmer also anchored a top-10 defense in terms of points allowed in four of six seasons as the Bengals' defensive coordinator.

On top of his experience, Zimmer has produced more success against Shanahan-style offenses than most defensive coaches. As more play-callers from the Shanahan tree populate the league, Zimmer's experience in that department could be critical, particularly given the tough time the Cowboys have had with Kyle Shanahan's own 49ers offense over the years.

A new DC was never going to fix what is ailing this franchise anyway— but it would have been nice to at least entertain a pipe dream of success.

Zimmer? That is like settling for leftover meatloaf out of the fridge when your Dad told you he was gonna treat you to a steak.

Jerry can really sell meatloaf as a T Bone though. Just watch his presser announcing this hire lol
Over under on the use of “glory days” and the other phrase.

I think he left primarily because he realized that McCarthy was a lame duck and the staff had backed themselves into a corner of “championship game or bust” next season or the staff gets fired. Something very hard to do in the nfl. If the staff gets fired very unlikely he’s getting head coaching interviews next offseason and his defenses last showing wasn’t good at all.

I think he just eventually wanted to get back into being a head coach and didn’t wanna miss another round of offers after passing /not getting jobs last year. Washington also has a top pick, tons of cap space, gave him near full autonomy and it’s a division he’s not familiar with.

Talk about kicking your HC in the balls. There is no way Zimmer agreed to anything less than a 3 yr. contract.

Dan Quinn was an outside hire...They had a dramatic improvement immediately.
That's a great counter-example and a reminder to me that I shouldn't use make universal statements that include "always" or "never".

In one area, the most important, it was a dramatic improvement as you say. The most important thing that Quinn brought was turnovers. The defense didn't have to dramatically impove the amount of yardage given up, that took a little longer. That's because the turnovers not only gave their offense more opportunity, it subtracted opportunity from the opponent.

Any time you see a defense ranked much higher in points allowed than in yardage, it's typically a sign that the defense is forcing a large amount of turnovers. However, what happens if the turnovers don't come?

If I look at points allowed you are absolutely correct. If you look at yardage, particularly against the run, you can see that it took a few years to get better, although there was no dip when Quinn was hired. So, I can't wiggle out of this one.
