You would get a 3rd round comp pick for Dak......that comp pick would actually matter not a 6th ro 7th rounder you'd get for Armstrong....

Fans get too caught up in QB salary. It's become this weird scare tactic that I guess fans or media have created to justify whey their team sucks lol. I remember when people said they didn't want to pay Dak 40 million because you can't build a team around them. When will you guys realize QB salary doesn't stop you from building a team? Have you seen Jalen Hurts cap hits?
Yes i have seen his cap hits. Now, what do you want to tell us with that comment ?

My point is when you see a contract for 4 years 240 million that doesn’t mean the cap hit is 60 million a year.

THat's the thing NFL teams don't have this loser mentality. Everyone right now feels they have a shot at a championship. From the Commanders to the Jets to the Browns to the Jags....everyone.
That’s just not true. There are many examples of teams trading out high profile players, building a war chest, tanking for draft picks etc.

depends on what argument they want to have. what can I use today to win an argument is the whole point. before it was about 40M average. now averages don't matter, its about 59M cap hit.

every team who hands out large QB contracts has to deal with the same reckoning.

Yep and anyone with half a brain would realize then that handing out QB contracts needs to be done carefully because you are in essence hamstringing your team with a large commitment and you best know that the guy at the position can deliver when it matters most. Not doing that is how you end up with Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott.

4 year $180 million. Same as Cousins but I would Guarantee $100 while Cousins gets $90 Guaranteed.
That's a $5 Million per year raise from his previous Contract, 4 years $160 Million.
But I would add incentives to reach $50 Million:
$1 Million for Division Playoff Win
$2 Million for NFC Championship Win
$2 Million for Super Bowl Win

He has 2 Wild Card Playoff wins during his last contract.
A $5 Million per year raise for fairly mediocre results is more than reasonable.
If he looks a that as an insult, then I would let him play out the last year of his deal and deal with the consequences.
I think that would be a very fair deal and I'm all for playoff incentives. However, I don't think Dak would go for it. He just finished as a finalist for MVP, had his best year statistically and to be the 5th highest paid QB he has to win the Super Bowl? Maybe if the incentives were higher or the base started higher with the incentives that allowed him to be the highest paid he would go for it.

No QB wants to watch the defense give up 200+ rushing in playoffs games...Romo liked the 2014 line..probably didnt like watching the defense give up plays to Rodgers either..not saying Romo nor Dak was not part of the problem but they certainly have never been the only problem to anyone who knows football..NEITHER has been here for the 28 years of FO failure that we are witnessing...
Yards don’t equal points…. Dak could have sustained drives to stop the bleeding and keep the defense off the field, which he suddenly had no problems doing when the second team defense of GB and their prevent defense were on the field.

I would not even want him if he offered to play for free. Get the heck off the team choker, sheesh. dak garrett's time is over. Loser hit the road and take your groupies with you.

I think any contract extension is just kicking the can down the road. Dak's had plenty of time to get over the "can't get'er done-itis". I would start eating cap money to get away from him like other teams are doing to QB's that they know can't win. It's pointless otherwise.

Same excuse for Dak against the Rams in 2018 in the playoffs. Dak was 1 for 10 on third down conversions. Dallas put up 0 points in the second quarter. Dak in fact has a chance to put points on the board to end the half but took an awful sack for a loss of 8 yards on a 3rd and 7. The very next drive to start the third, 3 and out.

20m would make him the 18th highest paid QB in the league and by far the lowest paid QB not on a rookie contract.

He’s currently the 10th highest paid QB and you’re suggesting he take as much as a 50% paycut.
He isn't worth anything more than that. He can feel anyway he wants about it but his performance shows that he isn't a difference maker and requires way more around him to actually be serviceable.

Again, something he has consistently done throughout his career.

Dak definitely has "The Glitch". Dude wants to run and hide when the pressure is on

Not at this time of the year…..what team right now isn’t trying to compete?

No one is willing to give time frames on how quick they can find Mr Playoff clutch to be the QB

Seems convenient to bash the QB and not the team. A QB that puts up numbers and few turnovers.

Coaching should be better.

No quarterback contract hamstrings your team. None. Stop listening to Stephen….no one with half a brain buys his crap.

That's fine let him do that, I just don't like hearing that he holds all the power ok that's fine, but we've been through a rebuild before, we've suffered trying to find QBs didn't go well, but it's only going well with Dak in the regular season
I get that..but Dak holds all the cards and its soley because of who is playing GM for the franchise we root for...they painted themselves in a corner with no plan B...again
