That's not my point. My point is that if he was willing to sit, he wasn't desperate for money today. Meaning he is now not desperate for money today where he would decide where he signs based on it either.

and you're point is VERY, VERY weak because sitting out likely makes him more valuable TODAY. He could immediately bank off of the earnings potential next year.
Now he can not do that. That 10M+ pay day is gone.
So today what makes him most valuable is guaranteed money and a signing bonus and certain playing time. Playing Left Tackle is what makes him most valuable in a couple years when he will be valued positionally.

deal with it? does not matter who I throw up there now does it? Miami is another team pushing for him and has mentioned moving Ja'Wuan James to G.

You said left tackle. James is their right tackle. Or have the rules changed yet again with you?

Only fact is you want him in Dallas and does not matter what anyone else says.

Not true. Anyone with a solid point is free to bring it up. If there's a true landing spot that's guaranteeing him their left tackle job, I would love to hear it. You have repeatedly failed to provide that and now throw a fit when it's clearly pointed out to you. But I have found that to be par for the course with you.

Dallas needs him so bad while all other teams are set at OL? Only news to me is this homer BS you are spewing acting as if Dallas is the only team out there.

So now it's "OL"? and not LT as you've been claiming? Like a fish wiggling to get off the hook.

Fact Collins sure as hell is not playing LT in Dallas claiming all other teams are great at LT? You are right your not selling you just do not make much sense.

I asked where he would be given the starting LT job as you had claimed. Then you took us on this wild goose chase because you failed to provide one. And you then have the nerve to claim someone else does 'not make much sense'?

Pot meet kettle.

I wonder if the guys he would potentially replace, Free and Leary, were there?

I can picture Free's pitch: "Well, xwalker has been saying on cowboyszone for years that I suck and should be replaced, so you should have no problem beating me out."

(Just messing with you, x)

I thought that as well. I guess they could say. Hey we want you to take the other guys job. But Free might also still be on crutches. That would be quite a sell right there.

That's true. Jerry could point to him and say, "La'el, umm, just look at the shape we're in at right tackle."

Jerry spent big on OL here but they bombed generally. Leonard Davis, Ron Rivera and others.
Big Bill was supposed to be an OL savant but his early OL picks almost universally sucked.

I don't think Jerry devalued OL as much as he saw the team win 5 games a year 3 years in a row when all we had was an OL.

When Jimmy left the only thing we could draft was OL. We flopped on about every other position on the team.

Yeah, but Davis and Rivera were on the downside and expensive parts of their careers, just the type of reactionary urgent fill-a-need type of signings that are likely to have poor ROI. Jerry used his top picks on playmakers, not trench warriors; it's possible that retrospective analysis has shown him the error of his ways.

Several Dolphin players that were his teamates flew out to visit Collins. It's safe to say Dolphins are really interested as well.

Your right there are 32 great LT in the NFL and no one needs a LT. Amazing how all of a sudden all LT became great players all at once. I don't think in the history of the NFL has that ever happened.

I like Dallas' chances here because this is not a bidding war situation. The amount he can make is basically capped.

Miami - If he wants to play for a contender then Miami doesn't bother me at all.
Atlanta - They drafted Jake Matthews to be their LT a year ago. Don't see how their position is any different from Dallas, apart from a worse team and worse offensive line in general.
Seattle - Britt has the potential to develop into one of the best RT's in the league. Seattle is also forever away from BR.

Gotta say I like our chances.

So are about 20 teams at least.

Dallas is close to home, but not too close. I like the Cowboys' chances here.

And so I will ask you, where is he getting that guarantee to play left tackle? Who is giving that to him?

None of the people making this claim have provided any logical examples.

that is actually a great sign for Dallas.

If they get him into Valley Ranch Saturday... !

So meeting at the team owner's/GM's house with multiple players isn't official? The NFL has some weird rules.

He can't sign a contract there.
He can after LSU's graduation at Valley Ranch.
That's the difference in official and unofficial.

If he has agreed to stick around Dallas til Saturday I think the dude is ours.

No your right no one in the NFL needs a LT except for Dallas, we are hurting so badly on the OL where everyone else is in great shape.

What is your problem? Let fans discuss the possibility. Everybody knows he might sign somewhere else. You don't have to keep saying it as if you want to bring people down. They already know. Just discussing what if scenarios.

Adam would undoubtedly agree with me (this once).

This doesn't require expertise however just common sense.

http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/dallas-cowboys
See the numbers for someone like Jeff Heath.... that is the bonus paid and is in ADDITION to the base salary which can not go below minimum if they make the roster.

Dustin Vaughan$510,000$1,666$0$0$0$511,666

that is Vaughan was given 5K bonus and eats 1.66K of that each year PLUS the minimum for that season as cap hit.

Thanks, but I'll leave it up to him. I fully trust his knowledge in this area.

Any other 'cap guys' available for a ruling here?

A chance to win a spot on the best NFL line in football has to be appealing. Parnell got a good pay day out of it.
