News: Troy Aikman: 'I believe either Manziel or RG3 will be in Dallas' in 2016

No did you?

Let me guess, no right? Because you are in defense of Romo/Robo who can do no wrong?

No player can do no wrong. However, Romo has been the ONLY thing that has kept the team from being 4-12 or 5-11 every year over the past 5-6 years. He's an elite QB. Those who don't recognize this fact are either biased, stupid, or both.

I think this view is incomplete...as the prime time players are abundant on this team:

QB-Romo
LT-Smith
CB-Scandrick
DE-Lawrence
WR-Bryant
RB-McFadden (top 5 in rush totals)
DT-Crawford

That is a group of strong players at key positions.

Oh yeah, because you say so.

Your opinion carries that much weight huh?

Funny thing is, off this forum, half of you would get flamed for some of the statements you make.

Well I guess the good news is with either one of these bums as a primary QB, we will get to draft high for a few years. This team would be lucky to win 2-3 games a year with either RG3 or Idiotfootball guy. It will be an utter disgrace, worse than anything that happened between Troy and Romo. What a sad day if this actually comes to pass.

I am thoroughly confused here.

Is Frozen700 suggesting the Cowboys would be better off not having Romo?

I think he suggesting that the Romo era is about over... Time to find a real replacement.

Love Troy but I think he has watched his miller lite commercial too many times. Future Troy, Future...this team doesn't need a
"young" QB from the past....

Rg3 is done, his knee is shot.if they bring him in here then I would lose all respect for Mcclay who is on thin ice for bringing in weeden.

Serious question: Was it unable to be repaired properly, or have have too much cartilage degeneration? (I haven't heard)

I don't know the specifics but he can't run like he used to and without his legs he is useless because he still cant read a defense.

Why does the long term solution at QB have to be a high draft pick? Romo wasn't a high draft pick, neither was Brady. And RG3 isn't coming in here as the starter, that's still Romo's job. RG3 will have to be coached up and learn the offense before the keys are turned over to him. That would take a couple of seasons. Until then he is a back up.

because the odds for low round picks or undrafted free agents are stacked against them.

The ability to extend plays in our system is overrated. Yes, Romo makes some plays where he improvises but he makes A TON of plays from the pocket too.

He's not better than what I am giving him credit for. He's a mediocre/average QB at best. That's not to say RG3 is really that much better but I'd rather have him than Manziel.

I completely disagree with that.

Making plays outside of the system is crucial for us to have success.

You keep repeating this but you have no data to back it up. Being injured prior to age 38 for a QB is not predictive of anything but is the norm. Yes repeat injuries if you are insisting on calling a fractured collar bone as a repetitive injury are not predictive unless you start looking at unstable knees or a really bad throwing shoulder perhaps rarely an elbow on the dominant side.

I have to agree here.

The better QBs like Manning, Brees or Palmer tend to still perform at high levels into their mid-30's

So who is to say.

And is not knees like Palmer and Manning are going thru although that might be next on the Romo injury parade.

in the meantime..

I just pray we draft a top QB and at least begin to think in terms of post-Romo.

This year was our wakeup call.

Do we hit the snooze button and roll over and hope..

or do we smell the coffee and go to work..?

McFadden was top 5 because of so many injuries to other running backs.

Lawrence, Scandrick, and Crawford are not prime time players.

Ah, the fickle fans... Tony Romo finished second in NFL MVP votes in 2014... and really should've won it... fans were anxiously awaiting the beginning of the 2015 season...
so much promise... this might be the year... then Romo goes down... the wheels fall off... we died a slow and painful death watching the NFC East crown just sitting and waiting
for us to take... but it was not meant to be...... Now, in 2016, there are a large body of fans that seem to think it's time to dump Romo!?!... Truly amazing... smh

Explain production from a player who didn't even start for the first five games...amazing.

And no explanation or source for declaring Lawrence, Scandrick, and Crawford as being nothing more than a starter for Dallas...amazing. Not even prior production and established play acknowledged.

Compare McFadden based on number of carries and you still see he isn't a top back.

Please find me anyone who thinks the other players you named were prime time.

Yep. It's time. Like Mick Jagger used to say: "Time waits for no one."
