It could be a Category 3 hurricane with winds of at least 111 mph, according to the center. Previously, the storm was projected to reach Category 1 status.
It's expected to bring 12 to 20 inches of rain -- with isolated instances where rainfall totals could reach 30 inches -- to the Texas coast, the service said.

I'd get the heck out anywhere near Corpus/Matagorda/Sargent, that's not even considering them saying it could stall there and start hugging the coast NW. Insurance companies must be shaking in their boots

Spent the day at South Padre Island bringing in my patio furniture. Looks like we're gonna be spared from the worst, but we will still get some storm surge and flooding. Hoping for the best, but i feel bad for those that will be hit hard. Got back to,the ranch a while ago, not gonna mess with anything here unless it take a turn to the west. Got a bunch of young calves that will be pretty scared the next couple of days.

Weatherman said possible 50" if it stalls, crapola! that's our yearly avg

Oh my gosh, RGV! What weatherman was this and channel?? Lane's got it on the filthy eagles game, so I can't stay up to the minute anymore, unless I want to live in the bedroom tonight, which I don't. lol. I did just run back there to see the new update on weather channel, and it's still at 85mph, but it is now going NW and not NNW. They also took us here in Brazoria County out of the worst rain total area!
