Until Jerry gets a new head coach and a decent coaching staff, I'm not ready to give up on Dak. As much as tonight's game disappointed me

Well...as bad as this staff is....Dak had a great rookie season last year. They did a great job with him last season. Maybe teams caught up to what we are trying to do and like normal they either can't adapt or refuse to.

We can win if everything is perfect around him. He doesn’t have the accuracy to scare the defense deep and he won’t even take off and use his feet unless it’s designed like McNabb did early in his career.

Dak has not shown real quality to win a game. He’s just a bus driver. NFL teams are only as good as their QBs. Ours is an 8-8 player.
I am starting to think he is Alex Smith.

Dak is just brutal in the pocket, and great defenses toy with him.

And I think having Romo in his ear as games developed was a big help.

Not just with Dak, but also with the coaching staff. You can easily see from the booth that Romo knows what is coming and what the defense has planned.

Dak is simply not making good reads at the line - there are points I'm practically yelling for him to put protection to his left or to change the play due to a blitz coming. I'm someone from my couch seeing this, that shouldn't happen with a QB missing it.

If Dak is our "franchise guy", he has A LOT and I mean A LOT of studying to do this offseason.

Matt Butt-fumble Sanchez's first two years at Jets both went to play AFCCG. You just never know.

I’m fine with a new coach, just wondering if Dak is actually that good

there is a reason he lasted until the fourth round - just landed with a great O line

Jerry should have been all over Wentz right after our coached coach him in the senior bowl - if had decent scouts

jerry should have been making deals early to trade up for him

now we will have to fight him ever year for the next ten years

Very true. But I was down on the coaching staff BEFORE this year.

Even if he is a bus driver he's a damn good one at that. Plenty of those have won it all in this league. Look around you man, game winning QB are at a premium in this league.

When the opponent scores over 30 points, Cowboys are 0-4.

When the opponent scores under 30 points, Cowboys are 5-1.

Yep, clearly QB is the issue.

How many did Dak lead us to this week? Last week?
.
Dak isn't the biggest problem. We have the worst game day coaching staff in the league by far.

This is Garrett's team, Garrett's roster. And it continuously underwhelms Blame the front office too. Same old same old. Competitive if everything is perfect but put up any adversity and fold like a cheap seat. It isn't gonna change.

As many on here may know, I’m a big believer in Dak. But, I’m also a bigger Cowboys fan. These next 6 games should serve as his audition to see if he’s gonna be the guy OR does the club need to bring in competition. I’m not saying he has to be Brady, Rodgers, or Brees-esque. But, I do want to see better play from him when conditions AREN’T perfect. Even if the team loses, I don’t want to see games like this where he plays like crap.

Having said all that, anyone that can’t ALSO recognize that this coach and this archaic, unimaginative scheme isn’t helping matters is just plain stupid. I would love to see what I coach with an imagination would do for this kid - and, a decent QB coach. This coaching staff has truly made me appreciate Romo even more. It’s obvious that he was the one that created things on the fly - Dak OBVIOUSLY has a ways to go to get there. But, to act like Dak doesn’t have the talent is just asinine. As a youth coach myself, I see a coaching staff that obviously thinks they are the smartest guys in the room - they just don’t realize they’re the only guys IN that room. A smart coach would utilize Dak similar to how Carolina uses Cam - utilize his athletic skills until his pocket game is refined. Bill Walsh did the same exact thing with some left-handed QB he picked up from Tampa one off-season that had some serious accuracy issues and was extremely turnover prone....but he was athletic as hell. Once he learned how to play in the pocket.....the rest is history. But, that’s what good coaches do. Dak is more than capable of turning things around, but, these coaches have GOT TO come up with more creative ways to free up the playmakers. Just my 2 cents.

What has Dak shown us without Zeke?
This is an offense designed around the run with a coach who is in over his head.
Look at Goff..he looked like garbage with Gurley last year and suddenly they both look great. Scheme matters. Peterson runs Reid’s system and it’s been making QBs look good for years.

Anyone with eyes can see Dak has been under serious pressure. Our line hasn’t been as strong as it was. Our WRs have no speed, our TE is slow as they come.

I don't think he's a bus driver. He's a good player. And has done better than his draft position.

But what you have to understand is that in every decade f NFL play, the number of quarterbacks that really matter is about 6. And if you don't have one, you're going to spend that time in differing degrees of heartache.

The other thing you have to understand is that the Cowboys have gone longer than any other team other than the Saints without using a first round draft choice on a quarterback. And it shows.
