This last week or so is looking like the St Valentines day Massacre and I think thats a great thing. Wipe away just about anything remaining from the old crew. Its time to distance this team from the old losing philosophy. As an added bonus this sets a tone with the troops that the new boss aint duckin around! o_O The old foolishness is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Individual players will have to fall in line or they can go too!

Not upset about this at all. I think everyone including Moore and Nussmeir should be shown the door. Wholesale change. Wholesale purge. No one on the staff is exempt from that abject failure 2019 was for Dallas.

If McCarthy keeps those two because HE wants them, then ok. As long as he can fire both whenever he feels the need to do so. If this is another Jones family Garrett move except with Moore, then I am against that 100%.

100 likes. Seeing this made my day. Dak was fabulous in his rookie season because he had Romo on the sidelines. We seen how he declined a bit from there on in which I blamed Kitna for.

Again, it's so refreshing seeing McCarthy clean house of these has been quarterback's running the Cowboys. I wish he would have released Moore as well. But hey, Garrett & Kitna gone is great.

Didn't McCarthy while at GB draft a QB every year, or seemed like it. I know some coach had that philosophy and am thinking it is MM.

Big Mc drafted 5 QBs in Green Bay.

2006, round 5, Ingle Martin, Furman
2008, round 2, Brian Broehm, Louisvulle
2008, round 7, Matt Flynn, LSU
2012, round 7, B. J. Coleman, Chattanooga
2015, round 5, Brett Hundley, UCLA

Regardless of what you think of Kitna it's refreshing to see our head coach truly pick his own staff.

I wish I could wrap my arms a quarter of the way around McCarthy right now and bury my head in his bosom.

I hope Moore is not the QB coach, again. He did nothing to help Dak but Kitna did.

However I did read where Dak also spent time in CA last off season with a guy, I want to say last name was Johnson. Who is a motion throwing type guru. Worked with Tom Brady, also many MLB top pitchers.

That would be Tom House, who has worked with several NFL quarterbacks, including, Dak Prescott, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, Cody Kessler, Matt Cassel, Jared Goff, Marcus Mariota, Andrew Luck, Jimmy Garoppolo, Carson Wentz, Tim Tebow, Andy Dalton, Blake Bortles, and Matt Ryan among others.

Yeah, this news saddens me a bit. I thought Kitna did a nice job with Dak and would have liked to see that continue.
Read somewhere McCarthy is fanatical about mechanics, so maybe this is less a reflection on Kitna and more that he wants someone who knows exactly what he wants. How much input does the QB coach have on helping Dak with the offense? Maybe a question of systems too.

Dak did look better mechanically this year to be sure.

Can't blame Kitna for 2017 & 2018 seasons since last year was Kitna's first year as the Cowboys QB coach (which was also his best statistical year).

Personally, it wouldn't bother me if MM kept Kitna and Moore. They showed promise in their only year in their respective roles. They haven't been around long enough to be covered in Garrett's culture stench. On the other hand if MM decides to move on (like he has with Kitna), I am perfectly fine with that as well.

Kitna is a good guy but this is hardly a move worth dwelling on. The idea that he "improved" Dak is funny, the ineptness of the Commanders and Giants improved Dak. Otherwise he was the exact same guy he's been his whole career. They'll bring another guy in, and the beat will go on.

Kellen Moore. He's not going to be calling plays, so he'll assume QB coach duties as part of his OC job.

That's my guess

Thing about the kid is he's going to soak up everything Mike throws at him. That's good and bad. It helps us. But two years down the road, he'll be a HC somewhere.

Read here that Nussmeier along with Moore are staying on. Perhaps Nussmeier shifts to QB coach. He did that for 16 years before taking on offensive coordinator responsibilities.

Big Mc has a tape of Joe Montana's footwork that he....uh...asks all his QBs to watch.

We had the number 1 offense.

Next year we can be number 2.
