Swept a short 2 game set at home vs. Colorado.

Correa is already hitting 2nd in the lineup.

The pitching will determine where they end up. They have an "army" of prospects in the minors that can be used for vet pitching if necessary.

The team is going to start running into a problem as far as having too many good prospects trapped in the minors. They'll have to trade some for either veteran arms or for draft picks.

There's no such thing as too much good young talent. If they call up a pitcher with high hopes for him and he starts stinking up the joint, you can always call up another young pitcher to take his place. I'd rather have too many young prospective pitchers than a handful of veteran pitchers any day.

Rumors are....they are after Cole Hamels. Not sure that he is the guy they need though.

I referring more about the position players Houston is stock-piling in the minors. They're simply loaded and they're going to have to move some of them or they'll end up losing them like they did Deshields Jr. to Texas.

The cupboard isn't quite as full when it comes to pitching. They have a slew of guys that may be good #3 or #4 type pitchers but better than that- it's not so clear.

Hence there's more talk about moving position players (especially corner outfielders and 1st base types) for more pitching rather than moving minor league pitching for more hitting.

Houston won 4 in a row vs. Colorado. The offense is really lighting it up at the moment.

Gallo is a terrific prospect when it comes to homeruns but Correa is a better all around player.

Correa and Altuve is going to be a dangerous duo up the middle. Wonder what they do with Lowrie when he comes back. Maybe give him some games at 1st/3rd........

I'd say 3B. Valbuena is hitting some taters but his average is still below the Medoza line. They may go to a platoon arrangement with Lowrie playing against lefties. The way Correa looks, I can't see him going back down.

The other weak bat is Marisnick in CF. He may end up going back down. The Astros have one good OF prospect after another, there's no reason to keep a weak bat in the lineup.

The Mets ought to be on the phone A LOT trying to exchange some pitching for some hitting help.

The Astros have taken it on the chin lately. The pitching has remained sharp... the offense has been woeful.

Yet there is incessant talk about Houston trading for another starter... I'm lukewarm on that.

Yeah, I like them winning but I don't want to see them gut their system in order to try winning it all this year, because the best is yet to come (for several seasons).

Right now there are 3 positions that are hurting the offense, 1B, 3B and DH. Batting averages that are too low and too many K's in which the HR's don't offset.

One rating service has placed 7 Astros in the top 75 players at the minor league level... and that doesn't include any of the young guys currently on playing on the big-league club nor any of the guys drafted recently.

Even if this team ends up say 85 and 77 and I would be thrilled with that... for this season.

Cueto would help them a lot and it wouldn't cost them the farm.

I do agree that this isn't their year, that will be over the next couple of seasons.

Cueto and Kaz was last minute. He is ok but won't add much extra for them.

I think some of it came down to signability for next season.

Kaz would no doubt be cheaper than Cueto and Kaz is a Houston boy.

Plus who knows what the Reds want? I thought was the Astros gave up for Kaz was minimal.

Kuechel and Kazmir lead the AL in ERA.

If the Astros make the playoffs, they're going to be a tough matchup for any team.

3 hits in 7 innings. Regardless of who the were after they got a good one.

I think they did for what they gave up.

I think the catcher they traded is going to be a good hitter. But still it was only 2 "A" level players.

McHugh and McCullers are pretty darn good as well. I am loving those 4 arms in our rotation.

3 wins over the Angels....sweet. I am ok with the Kazmir trade, even though we gave up some decent prospects.

As far as the trade with the Mets, can anyone with any knowledge tell me if the players we got are worth the prospects we gave up?
