You can't predict injuries and while we will never know what would have happened, USC was winning 17-3 when their all world and Heisman Trophy candidate QB got injured.
True about injuries
fwiw
  • Williams played the whole game, passed for 363, and had 3 Tds
  • Utah scored 47 points, won in a blowout,
  • Utah already beat USC once this year and put up 43 that time
  • I get that maybe the QB was not fully himself, but Williams does not play defense.

USC scored 17 points in 18 minutes prior to their superstar QB getting injured. I have to think that had he not gotten injured then USC would have scored quite a bit more than 7 points the rest of the way.

Furthermore, by USC having longer drives on offense, Utah would have had fewer possessions so they likely don't finish with 47.

Yeah...last time they played it was 43-42, so they both could score for sure.
He wasn't injured bad enough not to play the whole game though, but I assume it affected his play
Utah is known for finishing strong, however

Oh well, it was what it was.

14-10 Kansas St
halftime

TCU has 5-6 second-half comeback wins, so they are in familiar territory.
Definitely a 2nd half team

TCU gets a big break
Down 21-10, and getting ball again, KSU fumbles a punt return.
TCU takes it in on 3 plays to make it 21-17

very disappointing play so far from TCU, they are bottling it like USC.

Great comeback to send it into Overtime for TCU.
28-28
Unreal drive to tie it (including 2 pt conversion) by Max Duggan and crew.

TCU inches short of the goal in OT,
K State gets the FG for the win
31-28

My guess is here are your final 4...in this order assuming UGa and UM win
  1. Georgia (13-0)
  2. Michigan (13-0)
  3. Ohio State (11-1)
  4. TCU (12-1)
But maybe the panel flips OSU and TCU to prevent a Big Ten rematch in the semis

I hope so. You know they want to find a formula to get Alabama in lol

I don’t think anybody runs with Georgia again

That decision by the TCU coach might be the stupidest thing I have ever seen. It's coach firing stupid.
Maybe if it wasn't the best coaching job (for the season) in the country this year, they might consider it!

They got screwed on that spot. Should've been an inch or two vs a yard.
But yeah, perfect hindsight says he should've kicked it and tied to keep KSU out of the endzone.
