Happens to the best of them playboi!!! He's a freshman starting, give him time

That goes both ways. Give him time to develop instead of hoisting unrealistic expectations of him being a future #1 overall draft pick. Nothing he had done prior to yesterday's game pointed to him being on that level, yet.

His play versus Bama and his ranking coming out of HS were more than enough to hoist into a hypothetical convo years away.

UT has 1 WR but if you watch Ewers play his arm strength, accuracy and ability are on full display.
UT is starting 3 freshmen OL and it's best offensive weapon is a RB.
Ewers will undoubtedly shine at UT or somewhere else then go pro.

Can’t answer huh.
My dude I can't teach you the history of the last 20 years of college football in a post.
I can only assume you are an Aggie to be that clueless.
Too much time spent dreaming of sheep.

The B1G and SEC are currently comprised of about 30% of its membership from other, former P5 conference members.
They've rigged every aspect of college football to favor them from rankings to Bowl lineups to media deals.

anyone pretty much can have some great games because various factors favor them.
To say ANY player is going to be a top draft choice due to that is beyond STUPID.
Just because you want something to be so does not make it so.
Look how much hype Trevor Lawrence got; and look at him now.

I hear you.

To be fair, Jeff George belongs nowhere near any sentence with J Russell
Akili Smith and Ryan Leaf do....and plenty of others

Sure, George never reached his full potential, but he had a pretty long and solid career.
27,600 career yards is very good....just not star level.
The main issue for George is he was given the nod over Brett Favre.

He threw 12 total passes against Alabama. That is nowhere near enough to draw any conclusions.

I haven't seen anything that indicates his arm strength is exceptional. It isn't a weak arm, either.

I don't see good accuracy. Even when he completes a pass, it is slightly off or a receiver has to really make a good catch. That is the growth that will be required before any talk about #1 overall pick becomes a realistic topic.

I see bad feet(in the pocket, not about mobility) and a slow delivery right now. Things that can be improved. He certainly isn't trash, but he hasn't done anything yet that is head and shoulders above other young QBs in college right now.

What do you mean? Indy drafted George in 1990 and traded a good bit to Atlanta to gain the draft pick they used to acquire George. Favre was drafted in 1991 by the Falcons.

No need for insults.
Sounds to me like good business.

I wish zero success on UT but Ewers is the real deal.

He completed 9 of those passes on 12 attempts for 134 yards in 3 drives versus a Bama defense that allows 200 yards passing per game.
He's started 5 games and 4 of those he had a QB Rating over 150.
His BAD game was this week where he faced the 11th ranked team and passed for over 300 yards and 2 TDs to go with his 3 INT.
He was over 65% completion in every other game.
He did that with an OL that has 3 freshmen a versus a senior laden DL of OSU.
He also flat dog-walked OU in a historical woodshed game.

He casually throws the ball 50 yards. He was the top player in his class and reclassified to declare early so he's really in what should be his true freshman season.
He has a long way to go with knowing that offense and he can definitely clean up his footwork but the arm and intentionality is there.
He'll be in the top of betting odds for next year's Heisman if he stays healthy through to the off-season.
UT will lose the back and open it up more.

Obviously end of day it will come down to his continued development and also when he comes out.
He's not where Stroud is and may never be but he is a better pro prospect than Bryce Young IMO.
Far too many people evaluate QBs without any attention paid to circumstances and surroundings.
It's why idiots drafted Baker Mayfield 1st and Pat Mahomes 10th.
I'd have fired any scout that suggested Mayfield was 1st overall and any scout that suggested Pat wasn't.

Looking at stats and game clips, he has potential but then so do dozens of other so called top prospects.
Nothing special about him so far.

Well, that turned quickly

Penn St was leading Ohio St 21-16 with 9 minutes left
A minute later, Ohio St scored 14 points and now lead 30-21.

I only ever root for OSU in two games: vs Michigan and Penn State.

Was a little surprised at ND winning pretty easily; I think after last weeks close loss Syracuse was feeling the effects.
