He's right. St Brown just signed what stacks up as well or better than what Hill got, who was the highest paid WR at this point.

Lamb is better than St Brown. Hence RJs point, St Brown just made Lamb more expensive.
St. Brown signing is not the starting point. Lamb is the better receiver. Contract negotiations will start significantly higher in compensation and other terms for Lamb than where St. Brown and Detroit's ended in agreement.

It would be a starting point if Lamb and Jones' negotiations opened with and at St. Brown's final contractual numbers. I would agree if the starting point should be equated as the gap between what St. Brown numbers stopped and where Lamb's initial numbers will start.

You know...the value in signing guys like Lamb before guys like Brown sign is yea, you may slightly over pay...but you often force them to over pay

Now, Lamb is going to see this deal and raise the floor of his negotiations some

In essence, Tyrek Hill was the highest paid WR at 30 APY so we could have matched...maybe added a little more due to the cap going up since he signed and called it a day

Now? Lamb can look at Brown and say I'm better, if he gets 30 I should get 35...
What is it Lamb does that makes him worth more than St. Brown?

This seems like semantics and nitpicking just to be able to criticize Ochoa. Ochoa's point was simply that because St Brown signed a contract that puts him as the highest paid WR currently, that just made Lamb more expensive.

If Jerry had any delusions of using Tyreke Hill as the the blueprint for what Lamb was worth, that just got shot to hell.

I will not disagree with you. I would not have commented at all if Ochoa had stated, "CeeDee Lamb's price just went way up."

Trade him to Chicago for pick number 9. Draft Brian Thomas jr
Do we not understand how often first-round WRs bust? This is why players get paid when they succeed. The draft is a crapshoot.

Good to Great players always get what the market dictates. There’s no mystery at any position what it will take to retain a player with high value like Cedee. The NFL is just like all other businesses when it comes to market value. You get what you pay for. There are zero mysteries.

When the Jones talk about waiting for the “leaves to fall”, being “comfortable with ambiguity” or “We don’t set the market”, they look and sound exactly like what they are: Football idiots on how to build a roster that can seriously compete for a championship.

They are great at making money. They are pitifully under-equipped to lead an NFL front office in the cap era. The evidence is overwhelming. They are hillbillies playing fantasy football and it is no longer even in question.
What evidence? CeeDee hasnt signed because his agent absolutely wont let him sign. This deal with St. Brown is exactly what CeeDee's agent has been waiting for. You make it like the Jones can sit ceeDee down, put a pen in his hand and force him to sign the contract they put in front of him.

Jerry will do it "his way" and wait until the last minute to sign CeeDee to a record breaking deal
yep... thats what hes doing... im sure he has told Lamb's agent that he doesnt want a deal done until all others sign so he can up the ante and pay the most. ugh... its tiring.

Actually the success rate with first round wide receivers is pretty high. First round recievers have the highest rate of success in fact of any position

CEEDEE get ready, Jerry the leaves are falling

Amari Cooper deal keeps looking like he gave Jerry Dumbo GM Jones a discount and was rewarded by trading him for nothing and letting Cooper becoming a Pro Bowler on his 3rd team.

Looking for your WR Jonesboys fans...He is in Cleveland. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones kept a WR coming off an ACL injury that did nothing since 2019 and traded away a Pro Bowl WR.

Didn't this happen with Zeke Bob? No we're not going to set the market, then they ended up setting the market?? Stop playing around, to me the leaves comment was just about this. Seeing where the market is, and going from there, waiting on Jefferson etc
Waiting to see the market means the market is only going up. What do you need to see?

If a GM has no pulse on where the market is going, why is he a GM to begin with?

No they arent.

They are worse than last year and dont have enough draft picks even if they knock the draft out of the park and hit on every single pick to make up the gap on paper that Philly has created.
Yes they are, that is why their over and under is 10.5 wins.

Well Lamb has been in the league one more year than Brown. So comparing their first 3 years

Lamb: 260 catches, 3396 yards, and 20tds

Brown: 315 catches, 3588 yards, and 21 tds.

So based off that, how can you say Lamb is in a different tier? You can probably say Brown is better at getting open
You could also say Lamb gets more targets.

Messed up. You won't be able to afford to field a solid team.
And if you do not pay market value for premium players hitting free agency then you wont have a solid team anyway because you wont have good players. That is why the salary cap exists.

Yeah? They were favoured by what against GB?

You using a betting line to push your point is hilarious.

The Cowboys arent better than they were last year. Period.
