Are we fooling ourselves hitching our wagon to Tony Romo?

Er, no, it was a legitimate question. You just don't like the person posing it. Some of us would like to see a little more from Tony before turning him into a multi-millionaire. Would you buy an expensive car without test driving it first?
Bad example.

How many rich people get to drive a Ferrari Enzo before they order it?

We already test drove the thing, and it drove like a Ferrari. Engine had a few problems after 8 thousand miles, but this offseason should fix those problems.

All we need are a few good mechanics.

Dallas has been testing driving him for 4 years and they have watched him grow as a QB. Sooner or later the dealer is going to say buy or get out of here. :laugh2:

This is the same board that had people picking us to go 13-3 with Bledsoe as our QB.

He put up great numbers, made plays outside of the pocket, made several two minute drives to put us in a position to win. Made some big time throws in critical situations. Hes going to be a top flight NFL QB, we struck gold with Romo. Only QBs I'd take ahead of him are Brady, Palmer, and Manning.

One scouting service has Moore rated as the 355th player in this draft and not selected. Might be a UDFA.

No, he was in the showroom for four years. Today, he's barely off the lot.

dang, that is low. But i was reading a article stating that some scouts feel he hasent proven anything in college.
I beg to differ, while up to his senior year he might not have. But go look at his senior year. The kid was flat out stellar. 10-4 record as a starter at OSU. 5-1 in 1 score games. Amazing comeback in the Bowl game. Upset win Vs. USC.

Not to mention he is 6'4", and has a strong arm.

The onyl thing i think he needs to work on is decision making. But he showed his senior year that he has worke don that, and it was not an issue his senior year.

I guess some scouts feel 1 year isnt good enough.

He also has some injury history.

But 300+ rankings? i dont get some scouts

The reason he worked his way into the starting position is because Dallas did see talent and saw him progress to the point they were ready to start him. Jones has said they do not want to allow him to hit FA and I don't want to see Dallas jerk this kid around. He has earned his way on this team and should be treated as such and just because fans want to see more means little the organizations sees him much more than we do. As for risk there is always risk but I do beleive we will get everything from Romo

Oh, goodie...

Let's go buy a car that was a brand new manufacture in 2007 that has never been road tested before, and pay 15 16 million to just get it!

Let's work all the bugs out of this brand new car, while it breaks down right in front of our eyes...

The Chargers bought a Leaf car that was BRAND SPANKING NEW...but, they found out that the electrical system was all jacked up...

No, I want a car that has already had the major bugs worked out...now it's time to just fine tune it up...

This is key for the team's long-term success in my opinion. Proceed on the side of caution as Romo could just be a flash in the pan or a victim of injury.

If he turns out to be a great one, wonderful, but if not we won't be caught unawares.

Bring in some legitimate competition and make Tony prove that he is deserving. Of course, finances and draft needs may limit what we can do in that area.

No, I don't buy the Carter was handed anything nonsense.

At one time I was intrigued by him. That was 2 and a half years ago when he first dreamed of playing in the NFL.

I have seen him since he bombed out of the NFL as I do on occasion watch the CFL. I think he has too many bad habits ot ever do squat at this level. He throws too many interceptions in the CFL to ever give credence to him in the NFL.

And like I said, he couldn't beat out Quincy Carter. That told me all I needed to know.
Perhaps Ray can be coached up. He's getting a new offensive coordinator in Edmonton this year who is supposed to be great. He's coming over from the B.C. Lions. Look for a big year from Ricky Ray.

he did get a chance in the nfl, and he was awful...terrible...a joke...the guy has almost zero ability for the nfl

what is it with you guys and this Ricky Ray garbage?

David
When was he "awful", "terrible" and a "joke"? He faired well in pre-season, otherwise he didn't play--much like Romo didn't play for 3+ years. You don't know this topic at all so I'd keep my piehole shut.:)
