Yes, also, just more food for thought. His record as a head coach is 125-77-2, and his playoff record is 18-10 with a Super Bowl victory in 2010. Here's the link:
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/McCaMi0.htm. I think you will see why I like him as our coach and am more optimistic about that. Between his coaching time in Green Bay (2006-2018), he only had 5 seasons which were not winning seasons. Furthermore, he had 9 seasons in which he made the playoffs in that 12 year span. That's a remarkable record.
Meanwhile, with Jason Garrett, who I'm sure the vast majority of us agree was horrendous and I'm merely using him as a comparison as he was the most recent HC for us before MM, his record in his 9 years here was 85-67. 3 seasons in which he made the playoffs with a playoff record of 2-3. Granted, I'm counting the half season he was an interim, so you can call it 8 if you wish. So, just starting in 2011, his first full season, he had 4 seasons in which he posted a winning record. The talent Garrett had in that span was at least on par with the talent McCarthy had for several of those seasons. Yes, he may not have had Rodgers, but Romo would usually put up a good fight against Rodgers, and Dak has held his own against Rodgers in most of the games they've played against each other. So, the talent is at least on par when both teams were healthy. Just to point that out.
